I priced a CPO 2013 Mazda CX-9 Touring AWD with 17k miles AND a NEW 2013 Mazda CX-9 Touring AWD on Edmunds and KBB.com. The CPO model was quoted at $31,463 on Edmunds and $31,366 on KBB. Edmunds quotes the NEW model at $29,821 and KBB shows it at $28,745! TrueCar.com is very close to the KBB price at $28,807. So a NEW 2013 CX-9 Touring AWD can be bought for ... Read More
Unfortunately repairs will definately NOT be covered under warranty because it was not a cause of factory defects. I do not have the Mazda part number nor an illustration, but I do work for am auto group (dealership). Is it true the Mazda CX9's 3.7L V6 engine, which is a Ford-designed engine, is actually made in Japan at Mazda's engine plant? About two weeks ago my cx9 started to make a wining sound. I thought perhaps it was one of my tires since it had a slow leak. The reason you see more HLs on the road then CX-9s is solely because Toyota has done a exceptional job in establishing "reliability" among consumers. There is a reason why knowing your vehicle costs you much less in maintenance. If the same had happened to me, I would read the TSB first, and try it fix it myself if my CX9 was out of warranty. 2007 has the 3.5L MZI, same as the one found on Edge. 2008+ has 3.7 MZI engine with revised intake and programming/tuning by Mazda (seem that they were not happy about the defaults from Ford). That's not bad at all for the CX-9. If you compare sales as opposed to 2007, the CX-9 does very well in terms of not dropping off sharply month after month. And those 3000 plus CX-9 sales make up a substantial percentage of total Mazda sales--and total Mazda sales have never been anywhere near Honda and Toyota. Why does Mazda only offer a 3/36 warranty on their cars? They don't. They offer 5yr-60k on the power train. Besides, if you are leasing, why does it matter since you are only going 39 months? Mazda did have a 4yr-50k bumper to bumper on all vehicles prior to 2007, however, they changed it because they felt the extra year and 12k on the warranty did not help sell their product ... I have same issue with my brand new 2007 CX-9 with 18" tires. I noticed on test drive but thought nothing of it because I purchased a mazda 3 last year and had same issue on test drive, but was completely gone after test drive. Well, I bought the CX-9, and immediately brought back for alignment. Tech said out of specs a little, but "these" sporty suspensions tend to turn one ... Read More
I have a 2007 bought in June 07 and the nearest Mazda dealership is quite far. Would like to do an oil change in a nearby Jiffy lube or a similar place but feeling a little guilty doing this for such a new vehicle. Do you guys with a new vehicle make it a point to go to the dealership for oil changes or elsewhere?
I purchased the Mazda CX-9 in May 2007. Since purchasing the vehicle I have had to take the car into the dealership 8 times. It all stated with carpet/foam square missing from driver side. The carpet was ripped and a square piece of foam was missing. Thankfully, it was replaced. Although, the first time it was installed wrong. I had to take it back a few weeks later when the carpet ... I have a 2007 GT CX-9 with Bose system (and NAV). It does play MP3 CD's.
Rich, Some thoughts to your questions... 1. Be certain of which bank the dealership is quoting. Is it the captive financing through Mazda or is it another bank? When I went to the dealership, it seemed that the credit score determined the money factor. Again, it maybe how each bank appraises your creditworthiness. As an FYI, I used Mazda's captive financing. 2. I have a 3 year lease with a slightly ... Read More
Dealer is playing games with you, there is a recall on this and Mazda has send all dealer mechanic shop on how to repair this. I had actually the adobe PDF Mazda document on this but lost it. Found it with google. Is random, 2007 and 2008 still have this problem. Here is the text. I just got a 2008 CX-7 Grand Touring (Black Cherry Mica) and a 2008 CX-9 Grand Touring (Liquid Platinum Metallic) in the last two weeks!! Very happy with both but still trying to decipher gas consumption on each. I'm thinking that the CX-7 (4-cyl + turbo) burns more gas than the CX-9 (6-cyl). Is this the case? Got the CX-7 for my wife on January 2nd and liked it so much ... Read More
Door pull...gottcha. Ford's stake is 33.4%. That's neither here nor there. Yes, 2007 CX-9's used the US build 3.5L Duratec and now Mazda builds the 3.7L, and a different computer MAP for power delivery. It is actually a good design. Issues in the past have been from the computer system side of the Duratec engine, and other issues like the throttle body or sensors. Mazda uses their own for this application. ... Read More
Hi I am also comparing the Mazda CX-9 to the hopefully new Honda Pilot in 2008. I looked at the Mazda when Honda did not release the new pilot in 2007. my current car is not doing well (MB ML430 2001) so I have been looking elsewhere. I am considering possibly waiting for the new Honda Pilot or buying the Mazda CX-9 now. I test drove the Acura MDX (too much ... Read More
When it comes to braking distances, I'd rather look at magazines that do comparisons, since these tend to be on the same day/same conditions. So on Motor Trend, when they compared the 2007 CX-9 to the MDX and the Acadia, here were the numbers: (from 60 to 0 mph): MDX: 121 feet CX-9: 123 feet Acadia: 138 feet As far as reliability, truedelta.com is another useful source where owners have reported ... Okay, we did it! Drumroll please. We went with the Acura MDX . No additional packages this time. Up until 2 weeks ago, we had narrowed the choices down to the Highlander and the Mazda CX9 Grand Touring. Would have been happy with either but chose the Mazda because it had more rear cargo room than the Highlander and the rear seat of the highlander can not be split and folded ... Read More
Congratulations on your decision. I am facing the same decision. We are looking for an SUV for our second home in Colorado to replace our Subaru impreza WRX. Older son, who learned under duress, reckoned he would rather sit at home and starve to ... Read More
After researching the CX-9 thoroughly, I bought a new 2007 4 days ago. I live in the mountains of North Carolina. Driving up, the not so steep, mountain, the throttle completely shut down leaving no power. The problem continued and the service manager and Mazda technician kindly came out to see if it was true. The same problem existed. They also brought 2008 CX-9 with them and the same problem existed ... Read More
cross posted from 2007 CX9 forum: For anyone that is considering buying, please note that overall I love this vehicle, and have said as much in a couple of other forums here. This is more an addendum to those other mini reviews after I have owned the vehicle for several months now. So the fact that I am posting some negative issues should not really sway anyone since out of all ... Read More
I am not a Mazda owner, but my wife is looking for a new CUV, and the CX9 is one of the ones she is considering. Does any CX9 owner out there know and trust a Mazda service manager enough to ask him (or her) their unbiased opinion of what the drive train and audio problems are (or were), and what Mazda has done to fix them in the current model? ... All the dealers in our area were offering $200 over invoice for 2008s, rather than work down from MSRP. 2007 models were being offered at $500 below invoice, but I couldn't find a suitable car. I"m sure dealers hate the internet, but it has been great as a buyer! I just bought a 2008 CX-9 GT AWD (beautiful black cherry/sand) with the RSES from Menlo Mazda in Redwood City, CA. I ...
