    I own a mazda cx-7 2009. At 42000 the air conditoning compressor went bad. I called and took car to dealer and had a similiar situation. It cost $1,100. this wasnt covered under warranty as the car had 6000 mile beyond the 36000 maximum allowed. Total EXTORTION.     I would make sure the water pump // timing chain // and the VVT acuator are all replaced as long as they are going that far with engine repairs. Should all be covered under warranty for you.

    I 'm not sure about the '09's, but I now believe that virtually all the 07's (what I drive) need the VVT acuator // timing chain // water pump replacement by 45,000 miles or so. Just had these things replaced at 45,000 miles under the 5year/ 60,000 mile "powertrain warranty." Only expense to me was a rental car for 1 day.     Well, 28K miles later my CX7-GT-AWD has been using regular gas and there are no problems. Dealer said you could use premium but it was not necessary. Only previous model require premium gas.     You need to better inform yourself, the CX7-GT-AWD 2008 model takes regular gas, production models before 08, had to use premium. Mazda reprogrammed the engine and fixed the problem.

    27K sounds about right for the GT with technology package based on my shopping experience. 21k for GT with bose sounds too good to be true even if its an 08. Was it AWD? I just got a touring AWD with bose for 24k +tax. I overpaid but I just wanted the car in that particular color.

    Per the 2009 user guide, you can run your CX-7 on less than 91 octane, but performance may suffer a bit. We'll be running our new one on 89 for a while and see how she handles.

    I believe it is the same $3,750 that has been thrown around here for awhile. The bottom line is, there is still a fair amount of wiggle room in the numbers to get the dealers down several thousand dollars off msrp and invoice.

    Car_man, Can you please confirm that the 36 month/12K miles Money Factor is .00126 and Residual is 49% for a 2009 Mazda CX-7 Sport, AWD. I'm going to try and finalize a lease deal this weekend and wanted to make sure I'm getting the right rates. Thank you

    Thanks everyone for your support and congratlations. My wife loves the car. And a little over 18k for a 26k sticker crossover with that kind of pep- amazing.     We traded in our 2007 Mazda CX7 GTAWD today with 9500 miles on it. We were sick of the premium gas and the horrendous gas mileage. It is my wifes car and she drives around town getting 10-13 mpg.     I agree, and I'm a bit surprised that the MP3 capability was only added now given Mazda is usually a pioneer in the audio arena. They went to CDs long before their primary competitors did, for instance.
