Hi Legs3, Did you review my post above? The EGR replacement is covered on 2007's under the engine warranty. If your 2007 CX-7 is still covered by the engine/ power train warranty they will need to reimburse you for this repair. It should not be out of pocket. Mazda USA can confirm this. Just discovered yesterday that Mazda does not cover the EGR on the 2007 model but it does cover the EGR on the 2008 model and up. This topic has been discussed endlessly. The fact is, since 2008 the turbo was tweaked (ECU and cat) to permit operation on regular gas, with reduced performance. The non-turbo version was introduced because dealers squawked about the poor mileage numbers. If you want the turbo's kick in the pants, then the small price differential on the fuel shouldn't put you out.

Hello I am in the Ft Lauderdale area and Im looking to purchase a CX-7 2008 or 2009. My question is with no money down and a very good credit rating what is the best deal that I can get. Im looking to pay around 350.00 per month if possible for 60 months. Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hey slw5, Good to see you are still around. I am the other owner you were referring to. It seems this issue only affects the 2007 model year using California's lower 91 octane fuel. The service bulletin has the dealer replace the Variable Valve Timing actuator and install a new ECU form a 2008 model. In 2008 Mazda changed the ECU to enable the engine to use lower octane fuel. I ... Read More
Yes, this is exactly what I get on my 2008 CX-7. In the morning when I first back up, as soon as I hit the brakes I hear a loud klunk sound (or maybe more of a "snap" sound) and I can feel the shock through the brake pedal. Then I drive forward and the first time I hit the brakes I hear the same thing. Then I continue driving forward ... Read More
I own a 2007 CRV LX-AWD/ great car. Extremely reliable however boring to drive. I dare to say that the CRV is a Chick car and not a manly ride. The engine on the CRV is great on gas, I drive long island to nyc and I get about 21.5 on highway/ 19 on city driving. Inside the CRV, is great if you need room for a baby seat and groceries. ... Sorry if I confused you. Invoice price on a particular vehicle (say for example we are talking about one particular 2008 Mazda CX7, vin #JM3ER293480101103) actually never changes. Say our example CX7 came in Aug 2007 as a 2008 model. The dealer floorplans the invoice for that vehicle (lets say $22300). If that vehicle was still sitting on his lot today (yikes), 16 months later, surrounded by 2009's, the invoice price ... Read More

[In case you are new here, I ramble, skip down some for the actual answer to his question if you don't want to read the latest chapter in my book :P ] Well, first of all, let me insert my usual disclaimer....I am not "officially" in the car business at this time. My family has quite a few dealerships and I grew up in and around the car business, I worked ... Read More
Thanks very much Shawn for explaining this process (in detail)!! One last follow-up... When dealer support is cut & the dealer 'buys' the vehicles, do they buy specific units? Or do they buy a certain # of units overall (ie 10 '08 CX-7's, etc)? I ask this b/c when I bought a couple months ago, the incentive was flat $7K off any 08 CX-7. I called my salesguy a few days ... Car_man - Thanks to you and all the hosts. This is also great info that empowers us against those big, bad dealers. I am interested in Nov. Lease data on CX-7's for 36/39 mths, 12k. Thanks
I've been following the local pricing on the 2008 CX-7s since I bought mine a few months ago. One of the local Seattle-Tacoma dealers (don't recall which one) was advertising remaining GT's at $8,000 off of MSRP in the local newspaper last weekend. Also, those looking for remaining inventory may find the Mazda USA website a resource to search for inventory by zip code.
We have bought (see post a page or two ago), but I hear some Mazda incentives were completely "cut" on 2008's. Sounds like dealers had the option to purchase them (taking them off the floor plan) without titling them, getting all incentives applied, or staying at invoice minus marketing support on floor plan. Saw GM/Ford do that so wouldn't be surprised. If they took the deal, they are in at net-net-net ... Read More
Hi nagy. Unfortunately, Mazda is no longer providing lease support on the 2008 CX-7. This means that if you want to lease one, you will have to do so through an independent bank...if you can even find one that is willing to lease you this truck. If I was in the market for an '08 CX-7, I personally would take advantage of its current special financing offer and finance it at ... Read More
Hi michiganwed. The money factor that you were quoted is definitely too high. Mazda's current buy rate lease money factor for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier and lease an '08 CX-7 right now for 36 months is only .00107. Is your credit in decent shape? If so, then you definitely should consider switching dealers. I personally would not do business with a dealer that tried to mark my ... Read More
Hello michiganwed. Let's take a look at the lease program for the model that you are interested in. Mazda's program for the 2008 CX-7 varies by term and mileage allowance. For now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different. Mazda's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month ... Read More
