I cant help but notice a lot of complaints over the mazda b2300 trucks. i have owned mine for 6 years now. i have never had parts fall off randomly in this time. i drove my truck off the lot with 10 miles on the odometer i have tried burying it in 3 ft of mud. i towed a ford f150 out of the mud that day(stock b2300 is a limited slip 2 wd vehicle)i have driven the oregon dunes, and river roads.only got stuck twice ever.I have put the truck in a drift coarse made of dirt/ gravel. drag raced it, pulled boats, trailers, wood hauls and more. if your truck is falling apart you might consider a rig more specialized to your driving needs but i cant imagine my P.U. failing in reasonable circumstance.
the magical little 2.3 liter ford powerplant puts out an astonishing amount of power for its size. the truck maintains like a 4200 lb curb weight but its easily moved by what would be a seemingly
"too small" powerplant.
i also like the simplicity of every system in the vehicle. makes maintenance simple and learning the vehicle easy.
its an easy vehicle to learn manual transmissions hydraulic clutch engage systems make taking off smooth and simple.
a test driver explained this truck as "boring" well yes i suspect if you drive high end sports cars all day by profession this would be boring. but for those of us that simply need versatility and simplicity this is a pick with pep
more cab space in the smaller trucks. i doubt the extra cab space would be detrimental to overall performance, and drivability. makes adding a sound system impossible unless you can find some really high end 5x8 and 5 1/4 speakers. i also wish there were more available aftermarket parts (bolt ons) the 2.3 liter block is pretty common but there really is a huge limitation on non oem parts.
mabey a sport version with a lower suspension and interior sporty package.
Truck is great, just should have gotten a liner with it but thats my fault not theirs. I love this truck, Its a small reliable truck with enough space to hull pretty much what ever you want. Its fun to drive and has some get up and go for a four banger.

A cd player should come standard. I got the base model that only has a radio and i am dying for a cd player.
As an owner of a 2004 B3000 dual sport, this is my seventh Mazda truck that I have owned, all of them new except one, which I traded in for my dual sport. None of these truck have given me any problems at all. I like the feel, comfort, and performance that Mazda builds. I have owned a 1997 Chevy Z-71 and had problems with the transmission, so I went back to Mazda and will not own any other make truck. Mazda makes a very reliable vehicle, and with the look of the dual sport, it is very attractive. Mine is silver and love every moment I get behind the wheel.
Placement of the stereo, feel of the steering wheel, high back buckets, center console's storage space, visiblity from all windows; also like the idea of the locking spare tire and especially like the new look of the instrument cluster.
I would like to see Mazda have the stereo that has both cassette and CD; also on their dual sport models I would like to see the front end raised more to the level of the back end. I think this will give the dual sport an even more off road look.
