I have a 2001 mazda 626 and have the trans. cooler on it already and it works great but i just recently put a trans tune product in form autozone and my overdrive light started flashing but it sifts and runs normal. what should i do? Read More...

Justfixit, you may want totry what pscantlin did in response no. 14. I'm having the same problem with my 2001 626. Sometimes it will start and sometimes not. When it won't start after 3 or 4 trys, I use starting fluid and it starts; just like you're doing. After it starts, it runs fine. I will probably replace my sensor also before I buy a distributer. Hello Parell1234, One quick question: Does the O/D light "Flash" when on extended highway trips? If it does, you might have a "known" Mazda Service Issue. I have a 1998 Mazda 626 4 Cyl Automatic and for some reason if I am Driving at 70 mph and let off the gas pedal my O/D Light Flashes and continues to do so until I stop and turn off the car, let it cool for about 10 minutes ... Hello Ernie, One quick question: Does the O/D light Flash when on extended highway trips? If it does, you may have a "known" Mazda Service Issue. My 1998, Mazda 626 LX 4 cyl 2.0 had a very similar issue that happened only after driving at highway speeds for about an 70 minutes. I spoke with a guy who rebuilds these transmissions. I have a '99 ES V6 with almost 170k miles on it. The car has always used a little oil since I bought it new. Not excessive by any definition, but between 3k oil changes, the oil level would come down from "FULL" on the mark to 3/4 way down to the lower line. So about 3/4 of a quart per 3k miles. I bought this car last year with only 32K miles on it. One of the first things I noticed was blue smoke when starting it after not being run for a few days. I talked with my local service guy (mazda dealer service writer); he said this was very unusual for this engine. He suggested that I put Mobil 1 (10w-30) in it and see if that helps. I have the Haynes Manual for Mazda 1993 thru 2001 including both OBDl and OBD-ll. All the OBD ll codes start with a P and then an 0 for example PO100, PO102 etc . My Manual shows nothing resembling what you have listed Maybe you can get it read at Auto Zone for free and come back with the new code. I will be checking in every few days.
