I have a mazda 1991 626 with 100000+ miles on it. There is a loud ticking coming form the rocker arms. I just got done cleaning all the HLA's and i filled the reseves with new oil. and the sound got even worse. Any help would be great Read More...

hi! i recently purchased a 1991 mazda 626 4cyl, automatic, 155k miles, four door car.. i replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, and air cleaner... heres the problem.. when leaving a stoplite, in drive with the a/c on or off, sometimes the car seems to stutter/hesitate, stumble.. its kinda hard to describe, when i try to accelerate the car picks up ... How did you resolve this problem? Did it turn out to be major transmission trouble or was it an electronic part that engages the transmission that needs to be replaced? I have the same trouble with a 1991 Mazda 626. The shift lever on the automatic transmission is moving, but none of the gears will engage. Hi, I am curious if anyone has any ideas on what might be wrong with my 1991 Mazda 626 LX (2.2L non turbo) - it has 210,000 KM on it so far. My car surges when idle, the RPM will bounce from 100 to 900. It may go through this cycle up to 10 times, then even out to 750RPM (where it should be). I have a 1991 Mazda 626 mannual5 speed. I can't shift into the 1st and 2ed gears. But the other gears works fine. I can start the car on 3rd gear slowly and drive it. What could be the problem? Read More...

If you are thinking about a new model, I would consider these factors. I own a 1991 with a 2.2 liter engine stick, my son owns a 1997 with the 2.0 and an automatic transmission.
