Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsWith traction off. The more wheelspin we could get, the better the times became. I don't know if there is any sound deadening in the Zephyr that's not in the Fusion (or intake/exhaust tuning) but it doesn't sound as "thrashy" and cheap under acceleration runs.
Braking ratingN/A
Braking commentsThere's quite a lot of lift in the rear of the Zephyr under hard braking. Also observed some "skipping" and "hopping" in the full ABS stop with a noticeable amount of ABS pulsing in the pedal and I could also hear the telltale humming. First stop was not straight. (Noticed some brake fade during acceleration runs at the end of the quarter-mile.)
Handling ratingN/A
Handling commentsTraction off in "L." Not quite certain what gear I was in and even got an errant downshift on the exit, but what the Zephyr does best is manage the transitions from side-to-side. Somebody has done this test at Ford and it shows with the controlled body motions and willingness to oversteer ever so slightly.
