I have a LTC 2001 and the speedometer went out along with the brake light, ABS light and the traction light coming on. I took my car to Lincoln to be fixed and they had it for two days and told me that the ABS Modual had to be replaced and the cost for the Modual was $649.00 plus $400.00 labor and they said that they could not be sure that the Modual would fix the problem. Idle problem --- with my 2001 lincoln town car. Once the engine reachs normal temperature, the RPMs drop to 570 RPM when shifted to drive or reverse with or without the air conditioning running. i have a 2001 linconln town car and it has just started doing what i hate the most out of car, when im crusing and i want to increase speed by just 1 or 2 miles it starts jerking as i just show the foot to the gas pedal, it only does it when i very very lighly step on the gas to increase speed by 1 or 2 miles, i have tried changing the gas from BP 93 to Marathon 93 and still the same ... A thermostat that's not closing all the way can cause this, but so can very cold weather. An experienced technician can diagnose a stuck-open thermostat by watching the coolant flow as the engine warms up, but given the age of your Lincoln, simply replacing the thermostat and the engine coolant would be good preventive maintenance.
