After horrible service at a Lincoln dealer,I've decided to tackle this myself. The recliner (back) part of my driver seat does not work. When I push the button I hear something but it doesn't move. The bottom does move,no issue with that part.Anybody have any ideas?2007 LINCOLN TOWN CAR SIG.LIMITED,34600 MILES.Thanks.
I used to be in the Limo Business in NYC thru the 80's and 90's using Town Cars and Grand Marquis'. Since then I've had a 91,94,99,2002,2005 and 2 2007's,one of which I still have.Leaks were an issue on a few of them and in the 91 ( I knew of the engine issues with that 1st year 4.6 but it was ok while I had it) it's air ride went ... Here's what I have learned and experienced over the last 30 years of Lincoln Town car driving and ownership. All the leaks I ever experienced came from the vent under the right (passenger side) vent right.Lift up the grating thing there and a couple of screws later you'll see it's all clogged up.It gets in thru the area behind the glove box because there's a pollen filter or some kind of filter ... I likewise finally diagnosed my 2007 Lincoln problem to the DDM and priced it out from the dealer at $425. I located a brand new unit on the internet for $200 and installed it which cleared up all my major elecrrical problems. I had to reprogram the remote keys which was detailed in the manual and the only item still not working is the keyless entry pad which I can live ... Read More
I have a 2007 Lincoln Towncar Signature with an electrical problem. I have lost power to the doors, the keyless entry and the trunk. I have checked all the appropiate ( and indeed ALL the fuses ) and have swapped the relays. I'm thinking I have a disconnect in the harness... Any suggestions ?
Have this ever happen to you here im in my 2007 towncar shining, tires gleaming looking sporty when all of a sudden what pulls long side of me a beat up towncar taxey cab yellow at that, no hub caps dirty windows all cloudy, that burns me up. Lincoln is a prestigest name and too destroy like that [ WOW]
Hi you all. Recently I bought a 2007 Lin. T.C the engine plastic decoration cover (you know) was not in place. I asked the sales person he said due to overheating this cover is removed. I asked the service specialist at the dealer he said that he had no reports on that. ??? Anyone knows out there which is which? Cover or no cover?? Thanks George - Black Diam ond Exec. ... Read More
My car is a 2003. And to your 2007 - I bet it is a great car, for now. Wait until its nearing it's 3rd birthday. You'll have a great ride but with several little items breaking. My hood squeeks when I shut the drivers door - started after the 2nd year and I hear in the same thing in limo's. They haven't fixed it - Lincoln that is - and ... Read More
I couldn't disagree more. Last year I bought a 2007 town car. It is great. No problems at all. I test drove all the luxuries from infinity to Cadilac and $ for $ this is the best luxury car around. those rice runners can't compare, they are small and doen't have the room and luxury to compare to the town car. Today I was driving around town and saw a number ... Read More
I just finished a trip to newport beach and the 2007 town car, as always, performed greatly. I would drive the heck out of it even if it got 10 miles per gallon. Can't mention a cadillac and a town car in the same breath. How many Lincoln limos do you see and how many cadillac limos do you see. those people that make a living driving people around make a ... Why don't you simply ask the dealer whether he can order one? If he can't then that answers the question. There are plenty of 2007's around as well as 2006's. Nothing has changed on them. Ford has a market for these cars in the livery business. There are hundreds of them just in the New York City area. Apparently Ford could care less whether or not you buy one because they ... I hope someone will post information on a 2007 Town Car but just in case they don't I will share this. owning a 2005 has been a very good experience for me, I also own a 2006 DTS which was bought new about a month ago. I had some problems with the new DTS, defective battery and electrical problems. I bought the Town Car in July 2006 with 17,000 miles on ... Read More
They say they look alike because the styling differences are not as dramatic as, for example, the styling differences between the 97 TC and 98 TC. Based on Lincoln's styling legacy, considering the styles of the 80 through 89 TCs and the 90 through 97 TCs, I had not expected them to make the 2007 TC uniquely different. My issue with Lincoln/Ford is that the styling differences between the TC, Grand ... Read More
Has Ford made the final decision to end LT with the 2007 model or is there still the chance they could be persuaded to continue the model? I had the idea that they have all but made the decision but the door to continue was still open a crack.
Having toured the Wixom plant in 1997 and seen the computer sequential production system in operation, it saddens me to see Ford close that plant and cease building Town Cars after the 2007 model. The Mark VIII should have been continued after 1998, but killing it was a huge mistake. Engineers are not marketing or sales people and that's the problem.
:) I very much agree with bremertong's assessment of the Town Car. My 2005 TC is the best I have ever owned. It's a matter of taste, of course, but I think it is the most handsome car on the road today. Mechanically, it is quite useful and reliable. It rides with exceptional smoothness and comfort. It has power enough for me but I am a septuagenarian and by law we ... Read More
2007 Lincoln Town Car Info
According to my Lincoln dealer the 2007 TC will be coming out in the fall of this year. It will be on a Montego platform but much more luxurious with front wheel drive. He said the reports were that it's a great looking car. No other details about it are known except it won't be the same size or configuration as the 2006. I suppose more info will be leaking out ... I have visited several Lincoln dealerships lately to look at the 2006 Town Car. While looking over the 2006 model, I was told that Lincoln is planning to put the 2007 Lincoln Town Car on a Volvo frame and change the car from rear wheel drive to front wheel. Have any of you heard or read about this?
Automotive News is reporting today that the replacements for both the Lincoln LS and Town Car will be based upon the Ford Five Hundred. The Lincoln LS replacement is code named D385, and the Town Car replacement, using a stretched wheelbase, is code named E386. Both cars will be built in Atlanta. The Atlanta plant will also produce the Five Hundred. The Lincoln Zephyr may also be produced in Atlanta. Obviously, ... Read More
When I speculate, I'll state it before the sentence... like "I do think they should offer the 4.6L DOHC", while "although a 5.0L (bored out 4.6L) will definatly" is information that you might call local knowledge. The reason these vehicles (TownCar, CrownVic, GrandMarquis) arent getting much attention, is because they pretty much have paid themselves off. The platform (while intensively re-engineered last year) is Body On Frame, and that doesn't appeal ... Read More
