My 2008 Lincoln Navigator won't play my ipod. We bought the mini stereo audio cable , plugged it to the Line In in the center console the other end into the ipod and nothing happened. Is there a specific plug that I am supposed to get ?
I have a 2008 Lincoln Navigator. I bought the car new 20 months ago and I have had 4 new batteries. Something is draining the battery but the dealership can not find anything wrong with it. They have completed 5 diagnostic tests and tell me everything is just fine. They say the alternator has been checked but there has to be something wrong if my battery keeps being drained within months. ... Read More
There is no 4x4 low range on your Navigator. They did away with the 2-speed transfer case after '06. Beginning with the 2007 Navigator (which I own) Ford switched to a single speed transfer case on the Lincolns but made still available on the Expedition. If they told you that the computer will put it in low-range as needed then I hope the computer has the ability to build it's own ... Read More
Hello Mike, My brakes completely failed with the same symptoms you described. They cannot duplicate the problem at my dealership after driving it more than 100 miles. They applied a foam tape over a sensor below the steering column and said to pick the car up as there’s nothing more they can do. Ford Customer Care refuses to do any further work/research, even though I have told them about the speed ... Read More
Have you resolved the issue "antiskid light came on with whirring / grinding noises, and there was no control over brakes. This condition lasted for a few seconds and then the brakes came back again and all was back to normal. There were no cars too close to her fortunately, otherwise it would have resulted in a crash. " I had a 2008 Navigator that did the exact same thing. It ... Read More
I wanted to answer my own question for those of you considering switching to coils. I highly recommend it. I just had this converted and I am extremely happy with the results. I was afraid the ride would be much rougher with the coils, but there is little or no noticable difference. The only adjustment I have had to make is it sits about an half to an inch higher that ... Hi redroc14. There isn't much negotiation on the Lincoln Navigator right now because Ford is running its "Employee Pricing Plus" promotion which provides all consumers with the ability to purchase or lease new vehicles at its employee purchase price. Ford is no longer leasing 2008 models, so if you want to lease a Navigator through Ford Credit you will have to go with a 2009 model. Ford Credit's current base lease ... Read More

Hi wjtinatl. According to the latest information that I have seen, Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 Lincoln Navigator 4WD with 15,000 miles per year are 0.25% and 47%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 39 month lease are 3.75% and 37%. As you can see, Ford Credit publishes lease rates instead of money factors for the vehicles that ... Read More
Ford Lincoln Mercury just replaced my 2007 Navigator with a 2008 Nvigator under the Florida Lemon law. THe porblem is electronic and they finally stepped up to the plate. If anyone is having this problem get friendly with the Service Department people and they will guide you on what to do. It took me a year but I got a new car that has no problems as an even exchange, they ... Read More
Hi toto88. According to the latest information that I have seen, if you were to lease a 2008 Lincoln Navigator 2WD through Ford Credit right now for 24 months with 15,000 miles per year 0.5% and 52%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are 3.25% and 44%. If you were to lease with only 12,000 miles per year, this truck's residual values will be 2% higher. As ... Read More
Carman - I saw that Lincoln is offering $5,750 off on a Navigator lease. Do you know what the current MF/Interest rates and residuals are for a 4x2 Navigator for 24/36 months 12/15k miles/yr?
The dealer fixed the door at my expense, almost $2,000 out of my pocket and the door and paint is all scratched up. It has since happened two more times. It appears to be some sort of sensor or switch problem. The dealer claims there is nothing wrong with it. How can that be? It seems like this is a real defect to me. Avoid getting a Navigator with power lift ... Read More
Im having the same problem with my '05. It wont stop flapping open and close when its on or off. The only time it wont do it is when its in gear. This problem is killing me and the paint on the hatch, I just removed the fuse until I find the problem. Does anybody know where to start?
Hi goalpost. Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 Lincoln Navigator L 4WD with 12,000 miles per year are 0.25% and 58%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are 2.75% and 50%. The 39 month numbers are 3.0% and 48%. The lease cash that Ford is providing on this truck varies by region. The highest available allowance ... Read More
The only time I have seen it open on its own, ok, a couple instances.. 1) It does a lot if you are closing a door while it is going down, it will go back up. I think this is because the air pressure in the truck is pushed out the back and it thinks it hit something, so it tries to return the position. If you just barely tug on ... Read More
Has anyone had problems with the lift gate opening on its own? 3rd time it happened to us today, the glass was smashed out and door was damaged on a parking structure after we drove away with closed door. Power lift gate option appears to be dangerous on the 2008. Anyone else had this fiasco?
How are your brakes since the sensors have been replaced?
You will love this.....received a reply to a letter I sent Ford regarding my 2008 Lincoln Navigator not having brakes. This is what they replied: "The circumstances, which you outlined concerning your Navigator, have been given careful consideration. Ford Motor Company considers the satisfaction of its owners to be one of our most important objectives. We commit very substantial resources and effort in a sincere attempt to resolve the concerns of ... Read More
It appears they have found the problem. Each wheel has a speed sensor and the sensors are not communicating properly. The sensors malfunction causing the car to think it is in a slide. The ABS deactivates the brakes and wham you hit something... They replaced the sensors today. I will keep you posted. The factory engineers came to South Florida and looked at my car to figure this out.
? Recently purchased, only 3000 miles. Having brake failure problems. Have already had one small accident trying to stop at a stop sign. No brakes, into the intersection I went hitting a car. Luckily it was very minor. Took my new Lincoln to the dealer I bought it from and they diagnosed "no problem". Still having the problem, I took it to another dealership. Here is what they said....Checked brakes, mechanically ... Read More
Just picked up my new Black/Black Navigator on 11/20..what a ride! I had an 05, and loved it...but the 08 is head and shoulders above it! The exterior grew on me after a while..wasnt sure at first, but love it now. The interior is what really sold me..and I have the optional "premium" leather seats, which are covered with the softest leather you will find on any car. The ride is ... Read More
whoops , sorry --that was the msrp of another truck I was looking at. The Navigators MSRP is: $48,655; all other figures are accurate. Thanks again!
car man- I think I did pretty well on this lease.......I'm happy with it. I originally was not even looking at Navigators and fell into this one. I was orginally looking at Mountaineers, Explorers, Pathfinders, Armada's. I found nothing under $440 with tax with about $1500 total out of pocket for a 24 mo. lease. This is what I bought last week, S. Fl. dealer: 2008 Navigator 2x4, 24 mo. lease ... Read More
I wasn't sure where to post this, but the 2008 Navi is getting a unique rear view camera set-up where the video is displayed on the rear view mirror instead of the nav unit. Here's a link to a pic.. scroll down a bit within the page to see it. Seems like an interesting idea...... http://media.ford.com/press_files/2008_Lincoln_Navigator.pdf
I agree. They certainly could have done worse (though there are those who will disagree!). It is polarizing. And that is a good thing. Expecially considering it was an update like the 2006 Explorer (use the same body, do significant improvements underneath, new front clip, different interior). The Explorer update went over more like a lead balloon. I think Ford may be done now with their half-baked "redesigns." Tarting up the ... Read More
