If Lincoln hopes to compete with Cadillac (or Lexus, etc.) they must upgrade their dealerships. On occasion I must bring my 2008 MKZ to a Ford dealership that took on Lincoln to replace Mercury ... I feel like I am going to a truck service center, lot loaded with dozens of trucks of various descriptions, service desk and waiting room suitable for folks with a truck or maybe a Ford . I ... What What do u mean by a (tech serv bullein)
I experienced same vibration at low speed and 2K RPM, there is definitely a tech serv bulletin, took back to dealer and they replaced a manifold bracket...vibration gone!
All GM core brands were up in sales Nov to Nov. Lincoln continues to be down, and that is very bad, considering how bad Nov 2008 sales were. I give Lincoln credit for trying different things, but they are just not hitting any marks yet. The popularity of the new Cadillac SRX, along with the CTS wagon and the stunning CTS coupe will not help Lincoln (for those who are looking ... Read More
Hi cpaabv. ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Lincoln MKZ 2WD with 15,000 miles per year are 1.75% and 47%, respectively. As you can see, Ford Credit uses lease rates instead of money factors for the vehicles that it leases. You can convert its published lease rates into approximate money factor equivalents by dividing them by 2400. Car_man Host Prices ... Read More
Lance: I also own a 2008 Lincoln MKZ which I purchased in July 2008. I have the same problem that you experienced. I would like to go armed with the right information when I take my car to the dealer. Do you know if there is a TSB published and what the TSB number is? Can you provide me with the part numbers that the dealer ordered and installed in your ... Read More
You are right, quite impressive. Details on the 2010 MKZ here: http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2008/11/22/255167.html
Hi nacho2. Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 39 month lease of a 2008 Lincoln MKZ 2WD with 12,000 miles per year are 1.25% and 50%, respectively. As you can see, Ford Credit publishes lease rates instead of money factors for the vehicles that it leases. Hello, Carman, my brother in law went to Lincoln dealership to lease a 08 MKZ AWD, MSRP he says $35,950 deal give is 39 months, 12k , $1400 down which he says are the taxes. I wanted to know the Money Factor, residual, and invoice. I am certain that the payment is too high on a 39 month lease vehicle with that much down. Thanks in advance.
Here's the information that you're looking for, 737capt. Ford Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Lincoln MKZ 2WD with 15,000 miles per year are 1.25% and 50%, respectively. When negotiating your lease on this car, make sure to take the $1,000 lease cash that is currently available on it into account. It will help you to negotiate an attractive ... Read More
I took it back to the dealer this am. On the way down I determined that the vibration occurs at 2000 RPMs. The dealer management & service manager were fabulous . The service mgr drove it with me in it & felt it. Afterwards he drove 2 others & also felt it. He concurred that it is inherrent. He checked all the service bulletins , web etc. & could not find ... Thank You, I do appricate the feedback. I feel the vibration in the gas pedal, but my girl does not! Quess, just somrthing to live with. I feel having the dealer check it out would be useless. They would make it worse or screw something else up. Thanks Again.
I think it is safe to assume that the gas pedal vibration issue that you described is inherent to the vehicle. I just picked up a new 2008 AWD MKZ this evening. I felt the gas pedal vibration while driving it home(I live about 20 miles from the dealer) I found it extremely annoying. I should have taken a longer, more thorough test drive before I leased it. Had I realized ... Read More
I haven't had it checked out with the dealer because I just purchased the car 2 weeks ago and the dealership I bought from was not close by. I thought maybe I just needed to get used to the new car. Sync does not support my new blackberry for text messages. Yes, upgrades through USB will be made available (at least that's what we're being told!). But the music and bluetooth ... Read More
I agree with you! I will have it checked out at first maintance schedule. Have you had it checked with dealer? Will appricate any info. I will relay the same to you. Have you tried Sync with Text Messaging?, Bluetooth seems ok, but Verbal text reading limited to very few cell phones. I have been told "STANDARDS" have not been set up by all wireless carriers yet. I have the same exact issue. It seems to vibrate at lower speeds and while accelerating but is fine up at higher speeds. My husband seems to think this is a "feature" that gives you more "road feel". I don't buy it!
You might want to visit your dealer and ask to drive another FWD MKZ so you could determine if the issue is unique to yours or if it is just they way they are. I don't own an MKZ and only drove one once but they very well may not be quite as silky smooth as your Avalon.....
Have 2008 MKZ FWD . Have a slight gas pedal vibration when accelerating to highway speeds. (Have been told the pedal does not connect physically to the engine, all electronic.) Maybe an engine damping problem, but engine seems to strain with extra acceleration. No problem when car is crusing. ( I'm use to driving a Toyota Avalon with more horsepower). 1000 miles on car. Anyone have, or heard of this problem? ... Read More
Sync basically uses voice commands for certain actions with your music devices/Bluetooth phone / etc. / create verbal incoming text messages and other commands. Check the booklet in your glove compartment. ( lists the on line help site) I have been using it, no problems so far.
I just picked up a 2008 MKZ with Sync, Chrome Wheels, Nav, and Moonroof for $31,400 after rebate and before TT+L. That's basically invoice and then take another grand off for the rebate. Also, FYI, you CAN tell the difference between one with sync and one without. There is a little Microsoft Sync plaque next to the shifter.
great site. i have a dealer off on a 2008 mkz , list 30,918. the lease offer is 5500 down, plus first months payment , pay 354 per month. includes all taxes and licenses. lincoln is running a special , 319 per month for 39 months, 2500 down, taxes and license extra. i live in missouri which i thohgt taxes only part of the price. the dealer said our county tax ... Hi dandydon2. Whether is it cheaper to lease this car for two years or to purchase it and sell it after two years depends upon how realistic you believe its residual value is. Ignoring the interest expense, theoretically if this car's residual value accurately reflects what it will be worth in two years one would come out about the same if they purchase or leased it. Residual values are not perfect ... Read More
Hi casolorz. This car's lease payment will depend upon the selling price that you are able to negotiate on it. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable. The lower your car's selling price is, the lower its monthly payment will be. For now, I will assume that you will be able to negotiate a $2,000 discount on this car. Add to this the $500 lease cash that is currently available ... Read More

Isn't a Lincoln MKZ meant to be a near luxury or upscale car? One would think so. That's why it's a bit disappointing that the plebeian rides offer standard features that you can't even get optionally on the MKZ. Excuse me, I'm busy beating a dead horse.
I enjoyed your comment but why compare a Saturn aura, Honda Accord, or Chevy Malibu to a Linclon MKZ? Isn't a Lincoln MKZ meant to be a near luxury or upscale car? Not in the same category as family sedans out there like the Camry or Accord?
Bought it at Mayberry Lincoln Mercury in North Hollywood, Ca. The dealer said he was giving it to me at $500 over invoice (don't know if that is true but it sounded good) minus $1000 for the Town Car rebate.
Tough audience! But good points. No stability control is a bold move allright. There are so many great cars in this category nowadays. The Malibu is finally gonna be a contenda. The Saturn Aura is also a heluva nice car. And the '08 Accord is the first one to ever interest me. The Milan? Eh, I'd go straight to the Lincoln and deal hard.
No black or red exterior for the 08? I find that hard to believe. In any case, I'm considering a purchase of an MKZ. My wife and I have been debating between Lexus ES, Infiniti G35, and an Acura TL. On a whim we pulled into the Lincoln dealership. It had not been on our list--never even discussed. But after looking it over and a subsequent test drive, I'm quite impressed ... Read More
The 2008 Lincoln MKZ went into production the second half of July 2007. You should be seeing them at dealerships soon, if you haven't seen them already. The four exterior colors are: Dark Blue Ink, Moss Green, Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic and White Suede Clearcoat. The three interior color packages remain the same as the 2007 MKZ.
Hello, I was wondering, if anyone on this board, has some info on the financial numbers for the 2008 Lincoln MKZ. What I am looking for is the residual and interest rate for the 2008 model. I was going to wait about 30 days and lease one with the new Sync system in it. Any help I would appreciate it. Thanks. Fltrucker
That's fine, you don't want it or need it. But that has nothing to do with the fact that Lincoln does not even offer stability control as an option for those who do want it...not to mention it is basically standard equipment on may competitors. It will be here in 2009. Another game of catchup that Lincoln should not have to be playing right now.
This is what I know besides a few new colors for 2008: June Sales: http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=26284 Lincoln's MKZ entry-level sedan returns for 2008 with a host of updates inside its charmingly retro-styled cabin. Back in 2007, the former Lincoln Zephyr changed its name only a year into its life cycle, and adopted a crisper look and a new V-6 powertrain. The result: a good-looking car, with a modernized, "wide-mouthed" version of the ... Read More
I've heard that the 2008 MKZ will have some new colors: Moss Green, White Suede, Vapor Silver, and Dark Blue Ink Metallic. Has anyone seen any pictures of these new colors? Has anyone heard of any other changes to the 008 MKZ? Know of any sneek peeks on the ... Read More
I really like where Lincoln is going with the MKZ, but they are not quite there yet. When I sit down and go over what the MKZ has to offer I get so close to pulling the trigger. Then I look at a car like my friend's Camry, which on most counts is not in the same league. However, with the Camry, you get a more powerful engine, more rear seat ... Read More
It's definitely not a bad looking car, but it isn't all that distinctive...looking too much like so many other mid-sized cars. There's nothing about the exterior styling that says it is a more expensive car than the Saturn Aura, the Mercury Milan, the upcoming 2008 Chevy Malibu, or the new Chrysler Sebring. I think that is why, though it sells "ok" (and can make a profit from those sales), it is ... Read More
Dan, we've confirmed with Ford that the Aisin F21 6-speed automatic is the transmission used for 2007 MKZ. Our contact at Product Development advised the plan is to use the Aisin transmission through at least the 2008 model year. I was unable to find any reference in Lincoln's product information to the new 6F transmission being used on MKZ. here is the answer I got from the dealer Chief
ANT: THanks for the info. I have some comments and questions which you are free to of course answer or ignore or say you can't answer. - Emm Kay Ess: Yes, might be as big inside and in trunk as TC but it's not a "full size" car in the manner of the TC and GM and CV is it? What you say is true with many people. However, the buzz I hear on the Smart car, for example, is fascinating. I think they will have a waiting list when the thing is introduced in early 2008. Will Ford have anything sub-Focus by then? I doubt it. The management decisions still suck. Reneging on the promise to improve truck mileage by 25% was based on the projected cost and resource allocation ... Read More
Have any of you seen the new G35? I'd take it over the MKZ, no questions asked. It has more power, more luxury, and more design. I'd definitely take a 3-Series over it as well. With rebates and incentives where they are, I'd say the new engine and the AWD should be covered at the same price. For the cost of a 3 Series, A new G35, A Mer C-Class, or very close to a TL, I'd take one of those over the Zephyr. I think in the BASE 27 - loaded 35K market the Zephyr would be the king. As usual Lincoln is going to ... Read More
