What was Ford thinking
By carlcampbell on
2012 Lincoln MKS 4dr Sedan (3.7L 6cyl 6A)
I have been seriously looking for a new American car for over 2- months and finally decided to buy a MKS. This is a fine car. It is very nice looking, drives smooth, gets good mileage, is high tech, has nice looking interior and large trunk. Everythink is A-OK except for a fatal flaw.
The huge center console consumes all but a very small part of the center leg room. After driving the car for a short time, we could not get out of it fast enough. Leg cramps are certain to be experienced on a road trip. This is sad for a nice large vehicle like the MKS. What kind of "designers" and decision makers does Ford have. This is sad and I am sure this will cost Ford a lot of money.
Very nice looking, good colors, beautiful interior, great technology, large trunk Lincoln quality and #1 service.
Why was the oversized center console installed? This car is targeted to full size luxury car buyers. The front seat inner leg room is comparable to small sporty car? What is the point? There are plenty of large vehicle buyers out there that don't want to be cramped-up. I was hoping to turn-in my 2007 Impala SS, but can not find anything as good in a new car. The new full size GM, Chrysler and Fords have very serious drawbacks.
I am being honest. Chrysler has the "active fuel management" V/8 (runs on 4 cylinders) that GM dropped. This is a super feature that saves tons of gas in a large car! The Impala SS has this feature. The fold-down rear seat has also been a great feature.
