This car's exterior admittedly is not
favored by all colors. In black though
(like mine) it looks awesome, and I get
many many compliments. The handling is
superb for such a large vehicle.
Reliability for major components has
been very good - though there have been
some minor annoyances (the exterior
door handles are weak and prone to
breaking - unacceptable for such an
otherwise fine car). Yes, there are
better cars for tens of thousands of
dollars more, but overall - there
really is NO car for the same money
that can match the Mark VIII's total
feature/performance package (e.g. 290
hp V-8, air suspension, HID headlamps,
cool neon backlight, etc.)
HID headlamps, neon tail-light, 290 HP
INTECH V-8, air suspension, JBL audio,
and auto steering wheel/seat adjustment
position for each driver.
Exterior door handles are weak and
break, ashtray cover breaks easily and
FoMoCo requires the purchase of an
entire $1240 console module to fix it,
and it was kind of "cheap" for Lincoln
to remove the engine compartment light
and coin holder for the 1998 model.
