1994 Lincoln Continental 4 Dr Executive Sedan

Review

I remember when I first turned 18 and was able to rent a car with my company. I paid the upgrade charge and put myself in the seat of a brand new 1991 Lincoln Continental. Years following I continued to rent the Continental through the updates but I fell in love with the 1994 Continental. It was the last year of that body style yet Lincoln gave it a somewhat updated look by enhancing the exterior. A new grille, side mouldings and tail-lamps made the car look so much newer. The Executive Series interior was given an option package that included a glass sunroof, driver memory seat and a Continental first, bucket seats with a floor mounted shifter.

Favorite Features

Little upgrades on the exterior set the 1994 apart from it's earlier years. Big- a** glass moonroof that retracts fully into the headliner. Cool floor mounted shifter. Got to love the old school slow power trunk pull-down along with the very handy factory trunk lid tie down cord.

Suggested Improvements

Ford/Lincoln/Mercury should provide a heavy duty suspension conversion kit for all 4 wheel air bag supported vehicles they used to manufacture (ie: continentals and marks).

Review

I have only had my Lincoln for short while but so far I am falling in love with it. Big and very comfortable. Ride is smooth and quiet. Front air struts leaked. $1000 EACH at the dealer but I easily found them on the net for $180 each and they are easy to install. Makes the daily gridlock a bit more bearable.

Favorite Features

Sun roof. Quiet ride.

Suggested Improvements

Less expensive air suspension parts. A larger motor (a V6 for a car this big?)

Review

I enjoy the comfort and the ride of the LIncoln. I haven't had many problems with the vehicle except for the shocks. I am not the only person that may have complained about this problem. I see many consumers who don't want to let go or just cant afford the repairs to replace them. You see many drivers with their tails dragging. You get much negative feedback about Lincolns. Have you ever considered recalling these vehicles or just stop using the air shocks?

Favorite Features

I basicaly like the entire design and build of the car. I love the ride when the air shocks are performing to standards. The color is perfect as well as the interior.

Suggested Improvements

You could recall all vehicles made with the air shocks that did not hold up to standards. Or at least make the cost for the repairs more affordable. I am very sure you get many complaints.

I will never EVER EVER buy a Ford product again. Head gaskets blew 4 times, fought me on the ownership warranty each time, I won twice although it was never really fixed. This model is an absolute LEMON!!! and our friends in Detroit denied, denied, denied and put lawyers out front instead of mechanics. I repeat.....I will never buy a Ford product again!

Favorite Features

How you could cruise along at 70 and decelerate to zero in a matter of seconds, WOW!!

Suggested Improvements

Gasoline can and a bunch of matches....collect the insurance!!

This is not a good year (1994) for the Continental. We have had continuous problems - everything from plastic interior pieces falling off, to serious engine problems (the latest being that auto just stops running while you drive). We're selling it at this point.

1994 Lincoln Continental 30,000 original miles Have now replaced overhead gasket $2000, drive train trans-axle - Aluminum piston cracked, burned clutches etc. $1900 Belongs to my Mother-in-law who meticulouly maintains, cares for and garages this car. Of course, Ford has never heard of this problem before. Right!
