I picked mine up 4 years ago at 125K and can only say wonderful things about it right up to now at 175K. However, things are starting to show their age: weak trunk struts ($200), A.C. compressor seals ($1200 - ouch!), tranny is "humming" a little (shame on me for never changing the fluid), driver side window motor ($425), fried rear speakers ($100), antenna motor ($50). But I would expect a lot more to go wrong with almost any other make at this mileage. The car is still like silk. Still one of the best looking right up there with the Jag XK, which I'm thinking of getting, but I just can't beat getting another one of these. I drove a '98 Lincoln Mark VIII and it doesn't even compare.
Power, comfort, makes all the right sounds (no rattles)
I think they kept the Nakamichi (tape) head unit all the way through the 2000 model. In '93 this was ok, but by '98 they should have switched to a CD head unit or dash changer. I replaced mine with a CD head unit and a 200 watt amp on the factory sub. Milage Ave: 16 mpg Same as my dad's LS400.
