This review for 2001 -- Still has bugs

Review

I had a 1998 LX470 with several problems. It always pulled to one side or the other (steering wheel never centered correctly) on highway; emergency brake cable rattled near/at right rear wheel; tilt/telescope motors went out several times. Lexus never could fix either problem; took back under lemon law. I bought a 2001 just like it hoping they would have fixed problems. New 2001 pulls to left at highway speeds; same emergency brake cable rattle at right rear wheel; tilt/telescope motors already replaced once; transfer case replaced (vibration); Several rattles interior. Very disappointing to have basically same problems on same vehicle 3 model years later.

Trip computer (2003 has), bigger wheels (2003 has 17 inch), 6-speed transmission (2003 up to 5 speed), more powerful engine (great engine, just needs more power).

Review

with the 2002 lexus lx 470's navigation system being lost will be a thing of the past! I love my lx. so far, i have taken it on 15 road trips and it is still running great! service is great. they come to your house and service it for you in less than an hour. interior designn is superior to all other luxury vechiles. I love my lexus LX 470!

INterior navigation system, wood steering wheel, towing capacity, handling, smooth ride.

better stability when driving( bigger wheels maybe).

This vehicle is the ultimate SUV on the planet. It has all the bells and whistles, has Lexus reliability and build quality, and styling that is unmatched by any of its competitors. It's one of those few vehicles on the road that tells the world, "you've arrived."

Its far to large. No reason for it to be made. Horrible fuel mielage. Not great looking. High price for not such a great vehicle. Horrible engine.... Much to slow, no power at all.

Nav. System elimates the need for maps. Sound system is outstanding. Luxury appointments second to none.

My Second LX-470

Review

This is my 2nd LX-470. My 98 was awesome, but the 2002 is even better. It's like sitting in your living room on trips. It can be driven in "fun" mode or "luxury" mode depending on how one feels. It was definitely worth the four year upgrade to get the Nav System and the Mark Levinson Audio System, plus a few other new bells and whistles. I can't imagine another vehicle I'd rather own.

Favorite Features

The Nav System is incredible. I have refused to buy anyone's Nav System previously. Input is easy. Accuracy is scary. Also, the Levinson audio system is the best sounding system, home or auto, I've encountered.

Suggested Improvements

Move the outside rear view mirrors "pull in/go out" button to the door in the vicinity of where the personal seat setting control buttons are.

Review

There is nothing better than to take my LX470 out on those long road trips with my family. It is comfortable, large, and isn't as homely as a minivan. It feels muscular and powerful. My only complaint is that it should get more power.

More power, please, 230 is not enough for horsepower in a vehicle of this caliber

This is the best car i have ever owned With the navigation system and the mark levision sets this baby apart. The sound is the best and when you can rais andlower the car and ajust the suspension it roks. I suggest you try the car or test drive it.
