2001 LS 430 Trunk Lid Safety Problem & Parchment Paint Touch Up Problem
I just finished sending a reply to Lexus Corp. in Torrance, Ca. Their "Customer Satisfaction" rep told me he could not put me in touch with someone "over his head". Here is part of what I said: "I recently submitted a safety complaint with a suggestion to correct the problem, and I find Lexus Corporate's apology unsatisfactory. You simply say "We apologize that ... Read More...

Re: LS 400 Starter / ignition problem [firsttimer5]
Glad to hear that things are ok with your starter, at about 100,000 miles I switched to mobil one synthetic oil I have read that the lexus motor gets a lot of value from synthetic oil and it also takes half of the normal starting amps on the starter due to how well the oil lubricates the engine. I change my oil at 10,000 miles which is ok using synthetic oil I use 5w-30 weight. ... Read More...
Re: LS 400 '97...102k miles [gwendolyn]Buy it!
I have a '97 LS 400, purchased with 45K miles 11/2000, have a (now) 7 yr old son, use it for both family (with carseats) and business car, serves both uses excellently, expensive (gas, service, parts), worth every penny for reliability and peace of mind/relaxed driving, I use it daily fo in-town driving, every day commute car, lots of starts and stops, 3-4 freeway ... Re: Tire Issues [sv7887]
This is an excellent discussion. I am in the market for a 05 LS 430 and had numerous discussions about the tires with the dealer. It would be helpful to potential buyers if Lexus put the a warning in their brochure similar to Mercedes: “High performance tires are optimized for performance driving and may provide reduced ride comfort, increase tire noise, substantially ... Re: Annoying Problems on 2004 LS 430 [1933]
Hi! Just wondering how you like your LS430 by now? I have had mine since last Nov and like it very much. I had a 1997 LS 400 before. The only problem I have is I don't think it rides as smooth as my 97. They tell me its because of the 16" tires. One thing I like is the service it has given me. In the past I have also had a 2000 RX300 and a 2002 RX300 with no problems. I think Lexus ... Read More...

Multiple LS 400 problems
I think our 1990 LS 400 Lexus is a fine riding and handling car. I think it is more prone to troubles than it should be. It has been serviced every time at the dealer my wife purchased it through. We now have 79,993 miles. The airbag light came on about 50k miles dealer wants $2000 to repair. Rearview mirror went out at about 55k miles repair estimate $1200. Gas gauge ... Read More...
Reliability and Comfort for Long Commute
I'm currently taxing my research skills to come to a decision on what car to buy. I have a 45,000 yearly commute in a Northeastern state. My current car is a '95 Avalon XL with 252,000 highway miles on it that still rides like a champ and has never stranded me or needed more than fluid changes, preventative timing belt change, battery, brakes. I have access to auctions, ... Read More...

99 LS 400
All, I'm in Nash Tn and have located a 99 LS 400 w/ 29,000 miles - 1 owner, good color (white pearl/tan) std options, w/all records, locally purch and serviced from Lexus dlr here - Asking 29,900, but says they'll look at anything above the 27,000 they can get at local auto auction. Trying to compare this to a local Lexus CPO of same car, 99 white/tan, with 56,000 miles ... Read More...
