Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsLaunching the LS 460 is a mash-and-go procedure. It doesn't get much simpler or anticlimatic than this. Performance almost identical in either manual or auto mode.
Braking ratingExcellent
Braking commentsExcellent pedal feel even as braking performance begins to suffer from heat soak. There is something to be said for a rock-solid pedal in a car this heavy.
Handling ratingVery Good
Handling commentsIt's big and it rolls a lot, but it sticks pretty well. Balance is impressive for a car this size. In the slalom there is a lot of interference from the stability control system until you shut it off. With the stability system off, the LS 460 actually has good manners. It's big and reacts slowly, but the fundamentals required to control it at the limit are intuitive.
