The LS 430 first year of production was model year 2001 and the last year was 2006. I think the only important upgrade during this run was model year 2004. The look did not change much for the entire run. IMO, the LS 430 is one of the finest cars ever made. I think you can still get one that is certified going back as far as 2005, possibly 2004, which ... Read More
I have a 2006 LS 430 that I bought new 3 years ago. The original warranty has not expired yet.
Are you talking about a 2009 LS 460, or a 2006 LS 430? Or is it a used 430 that you are buying in 2009?
I have bluetooth in my 2006 LS 430. I use a Verizon Motorola RAZR V3c cell phone which works well with Lexus bluetooth with one exception---I am unable to upload cell phone address book to bluetooth system. Thus I must use cell phone for making calls though they go thru car bluetooth. Pls direct me to a cell phone, preferably with Verizon, that will allow address book to be uploaded to ... Read More
I have a 2006 LS 430 with no Lexus Link--it was not an option.Has anyone installed digital Lexus Link after new car delivery? Thanks.
I hope that $1,500 Timing Belt Service incudes an new water pump! Fuel Induction Flush would especially be a good idea if you live in an area of the US that has 10% Ethanol at all the gas stations like mine do. Ethanol can clean the fuel lines of gunk that gets caught in your fuel filter (which may need changing too) I swear by these ceramic brake pads on TireRack ... Read More
I have a blog post that basically says that the trunk hinge mechanism on the 2007 LS 460 is superior (in my opinion) to the "strut" trunk lid mechanism on all the LS 430's from 2001 to 2006. But the "stuts" enable the LS 430 to have a bit more trunk space capacity as my blog post details here: 2007 Lexus LS 460's Retro 1990 Trunk Lid Mechanis>/a>">link title
I just got back from my local Lexus dealer where I bought my 2001 LS 430. The service and parts managers along with everyone working there are very nice and helpful (Park Place Lexus of Grapevine, Tx.) This matter is over their heads, as the problem lies with Lexus Corporate, IMO. Here is some VERY INTERESTING NEWS! A nice new car salesman showed me the trunk mechanism on the brand new ... I just did an online check with my Lexus dealer to see what LS430's they have on the lot - they have more than they can get rid of! ...and of course they are asking outrageous prices... They have 10 USED LS 430's, 5 NEW 2005 LS's & 7 NEW 2006 LS's...all on one LOT!!! If anybody wants a good deal go to Nalley Lexus Galleria, they would be foolish not ... Read More
Marv, I should clarify, I think $12k below MSRP for this particular 2006 LS 430 with 6000 miles on it is still too much. The dealer is Nalley Lexus Galleria.
Greetings islamorada1. Through September 4th, Lexus Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 39 month lease of a base 2006 LS 430 with 12,000 miles per year are .00150 and 48% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier. The money factors for the Custom Luxury and Ultra Luxury models would be the same, but the residual values for the aforementioned lease would be 45% ... Read More
Here you go, carnut12. Through September 4th, Lexus Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a base 2006 Lexus LS 430 with 12,000 miles per year are .00150 and 51%, respectively. I am not involved with the incentives section of this site, so I don't know why the Lexus information in that area has not been updated yet. You may be able ... Read More
Greetings rley. Here's the info that you're looking for. If you were to lease a 2006 Lexus LS 430 through Lexus Financial Services right now for 39 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00150 and 46%, respectively. The money factor for a 36 month lease would be the same, but the residual value would increase to 49%. Car_man Host Prices ... Read More
On the 14th the Internet Department called to say he could offer $13K off sticker for an Ultra...if I could do the deal by the 15th. (Evidently the quotas are on the 15th as well as the end of the month). However, when we went over the numbers, it turned out it was around $11.2K off sticker. Since I'm not in a rush to buy and haven't yet firmly decided to ... Read More
Thanks Banker. You're correct, this will be my first Lexus. By visiting two dealerships I've already learned that not all are created equally. One of them appears to be in a class by itself. The lesser dealer...well, let's just say that it is a result of poor management. I live in the South Florida area and there is an abundance of Lexus dealerships within a 50 mile radius. Great minds think ... Read More
I'm not saying your strategy is flawed in any way, guru. I'm just wondering have you bought a Lexus before? (Your profile tells me zip). Reason being, most Lexus dealers pamper you to the highest level I've ever experienced. You won't find a "hard sell finance guy" there to try and slap undercoating on your car. I doubt they'll even try to sell you the extra warranty, you can always buy ... Read More
I've visited two Lexus dealers in the South Florida area and they both have a heavy inventory on the LS 430s. While talking to the Internet manager, I noticed on his computer screen that he had a listing of around 30 of his most recent inquiries...not one of them was for an LS. It seems that the buyers entering the showrooms at this time of the year are looking for the ... Read More
Hey peters902. Lexus Financial Services' 39 month lease program is different than its 36 month program. If you were to lease a 2006 LS 430 through Lexus Financial Services right now for 39 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00156 and 48%, respectively. As far as the advertising charge goes, ignore it. Rather than letting dealers cloud the big picture ... Read More
Car Man, or anyone listening: Thanks for the answer. . .is there a difference in residual for 39 months/ 15,000 miles on a 2006 LS 430? Also, I have gotten some good numbers, but have run into the $500-$700 add-on for "advertising" when I get a price. It is added on to the invoice price. Most South Florida dealers are going below invoice, before they add this on, and they say ... Read More
Hi, Car man and everyone else: My current LS 430 lease expires June, so need the offical residuals for May (if out yet) as well as money factor. . . and does anyone know of LS 430 will have Lexus' help coming such as bulking up residual to help get rid of 2006 models? . . Also, has anyone dealt with Fleetsales.com? What's your experience?
Hello Mike. If you were to lease a 2006 Lexus LS 430 through Lexus Financial Services right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00156 and 51%, respectively. This is a pretty good money factor. It;s equivalent to an interest rate of around 3.75%. Car_man Host Smart Shopper / Prices Paid Forums
I recently took delivery on a 2006 LS 430 and am having great fun getting acquainted with the new car. It is different enough from my 2001 LS that I need some study to get everything up and running. Car is blue tooth compatible and I would appreciate thoughts on which cell phones work well, and as importantly do not work, with the new car. I live in the Wash, DC ... Read More

Prior to purchasing my 2003 LS 430 and 2005 RX 330 I sent email messages to numerous mid-Atlantic Lexus dealerships in Richmond, Raleigh, Virginia Beach, Newport News, and the Washington area requesting prices. I got the best price from Lindsay Lexus in Alexandria in both cases. I then took that price to the dealership nearest me (Newport News) and they matched it. Price from any one dealer will vary considerably depending ... Read More

Hi harley5. Dealers do not have the authority to alter banks' published residual values. In order for the dealer that you are working with to have changed this car's resid, they must have altered its mileage allowance, the length of the lease, or the bank that it is being leased through. Lexus financial Services' current 36 month, 12,000 miles per year residual value for a base 2006 LS 430 is currently ... Read More
I've had an opportunity to take a look at the new "December to Remember" lease program and would be happy to help you out, popeye7. Lexus is providing special lease money factors on just about all of its vehicles through this program. It's new lower buy rate lease money factor for the 2006 LS 430 is .00148. This is a lot lower than its standard money factor of .00245 that you ... Read More
My 2005 LS430 does not support iPod. I don't believe the 2006 LS430 supports iPid either, but I'm not positive. I believe some of the 2006 Lexus sport model sedans offer iPod compatibility.
Anyone done any minor or major performance upgrades - e.g. suspension tweaks, engine mods, custom exhaust, etc.? I've just bought a 2006 and while I love the car, it is almost too good and sedate. Even the car mags don't fault the car aside from wanting more character.
You're right. I know every deal made on this car that's been posted. You saw through that one! Even so, I will still re-read them. I can't wait 'til July when the games begin. My lease is up in early August. Another possibility is to extend my BMW lease 'til December so I can take advantage of the lower "December To Remember" money factor. According to kyfdx, BMW leases can be ... Read More
600 miles on the LS and after some around town and a 300 mile interstate drive I am very satisfied. Acceleration and braking are most gratifying and handling a most positive surprise. Not Porsche spec but not boat like as expected. No hesitation noticed with or without ECT. (I am particularly sensitive to this issue since we traded our Audi A6 TT for a hesitation problem.) Interior is perfect for me. ... Read More
No it wasn't close. The Lexus LS relaxes you with great seats and a pillowy smooth suspension. Its cornering leaves something to be desired. I also was bothered by an annoying hesitation in acceleration. You don't expect that in a $55,000 vehicle. The GS430 on the other hand cornered very well. Its interior is smaller than the LS-more like a BMW 3 series. The GS had strong acceleration with extremely well-weighted ... Read More
Yeah. Orlando is pretty far from me too. I e-mailed the Clearwater Lexus dealership asking if they had a euro-tuned, 18" summer tire demo. Waiting for them to get back to me. Right. The 545 is incredible as might be the upgraded 2006 530. I thought the new GS 430 was close to incredible-excellent handling. Only, Lexus is asking 16% over invoice($8000 over invoice in my case). What I may do ... Read More
I will test drive the M45 soon. Then comes the BMW 545, the 2006 530 and the 2006 330. The choice will be among the above and the Lexus GS 430 which I found surprisingly impressive. I have until July to finalize. So I will take my time and drive them all as they become available. Now to look up some Infiniti dealers...... Should be as easy as "dbc."
Scroll down this page for that Sony story. The LCD has a 27,000 hour life expectancy before it starts to dim. The Plasma is much shorter. Something else to consider. If they've solved the motion issue than LCD is a much better way to go. Samsung has a 46" model and Sharp has a 45" one. They do expect to cross 50" pretty soon. In HD non-sport content the pure LCD ... Read More
We've been pondering whether the next car is a 2006, a 2007 or an early entry 2007 (say Spring 2006). But the below link lends crecedence to the belief that it may be a 2006 or early entry 2007. Lexus will be very secretive about the auto side of this car but guaranteed it will be a 5.0L in its gas engine variant and will follow the new styling trend of ... Read More
Thank you for responding. Your solution is a good one, I guess I am attached to my 2001 LS 430 Ultra and am waiting for the AWD model [2006]. I am leery of the 2004 model because of the transmission and fuel pump problems and it appears that 2004 has been an aberrant year ... Read More
