I bought the IS 300 to replace 2001
Mustang GT which had so many problems,
interior and exterior. Initial crush
with interior and exterior design still
stays with me. It draws everyone's
attention wherever I go. The car has
one of a kind design, superior
fit/finish and quality in all aspects.
It literally flies on the freeway.
Whenever on the freeway, I feel like
To compete with G35 coupe, horsepower
has to be at least 260 for faster take-
off and muscle.
Only 1 trip to the dealer for a plastic
piece falling off under the car. The
main problem I have had with this car,
is that the transmission acts confused
sometimes. Sometimes when you press
the gas, nothing happens for a second!
It's like the engine/transmission
programming is wacked or something. I
read a couple magazines that mention
this also. WAKE UP LEXUS! Also, this
car shared too many parts with the
Corolla, just look at the steering
wheel. Performance is not great, it's
definitely no M3 by any means. For the
price/performance, I'm going to look at
one of the new Acuras, they are
incredible. it go. But it has been a
This's my third lexus (GS,SC,IS).
Allways had very good expirience with
cars and service dept. up to this point.
One problem that no one seems to be
talking about and help me with. It's the
17" tires by Good Year that came with
IS. 24K miles and 10(ten) tires*$280 a
pop later I'm p..sed off as one can
be!!!! BUUUUBLLLLLLES and blow outs
twice (all hwy driving).Lexus refused to
deal with it from day 4. Taking a big
hit on $$$ and trading in. Lexus refused
to deal with it from day 4.
Interior design. In-dash 6 disc CD. Lights.
Road noise. Center arm rest. More power
of in-line 6 with 3.0L.
Do somthing about the TIRES. They BLOW!!!!
its not anything like any bmw ever.
The acceleration isn't that great for
the 3000ccs of displacement. And for
getting that bad of gas mileage, it
should be faster. It does handle good,
and the design is nice, but if you have
the money, go with the bmw.
interior, exterior design.
faster engine, lighter chassis. The
clutch isn't that great either
