The V8 engine is quite strong. But as with the GS 350, the electronic countermeasures cut in too early and too often for this to be a legitimate sports sedan. The 8-speed automatic transmission is Lexus-smooth.
The cabin is spacious, front and rear, and the comfortable seats are covered in soft leather. The ride is both soft and quiet.
As is the case with most Lexus production, the cockpit controls are well thought-out and very logically placed. Some of the minor secondary controls are concealed in a unique fold-down panel.
Build quality is up to the usual Lexus standard. The exterior, an evolution from the previous model issleek but not daring. The larger wheels and tires work well, visually.
