I didn't know how bad the Run flat tires on my 08GS350 AWD until yesterday. I got a screw at RR. My car is only 10 days old with 300 miles. How unlucky I am! At the near local tire store, they can't fix it because of run flat tire. My wife took the car to the Lexus dealer, at the beginning they said they can fix the tire. Later on, ... Read More
I have the same car, and pretty much the same experience. Out of frustration I stuck a sock between the dash and windshield on the right hand side, and 90% of my dash noise went away. I've been driving this way for 5K miles or so, and some of the squeaks have come back, but many have not. Whenever I bring it in for service I tell them to not touch ... Read More
I just made the plunge-pick up my M35x relatively loaded on Saturday. My only real concern is fuel economy. I drove the GS300, and found it cramped and small, and generally unimpressive on the road. I am going to have some fun with the M, which has much nicer road manners than the 2005 G35x I am trading (long story.) I actually bought 2 cars this week--traded the G35X for the ... Read More
I have a 2005 Lexus Gs-300 that is white in color. Every time I wash the car I am finding the sides of the car are covered in tar that shows up easily on white. This takes about 1 hour to sit down and remove all of the tar. I have had previous Toyota products that have had factor mud guards that I can not seem to find for my GS. ... Read More
Update: - The 3GR-FE engine is NOT the Mk-II engine - it is actually the 2003 Toyota Crown engine and is only used for Asia-Pacific Lexus GS 300's. - The 3GR-FSE engine available in the US is the same engine as the '03 Crown unit, but with direct injection added. It is also used on the 2005 Toyota Crown Royal and Toyota Mark X in Japan. For more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_GR_engine
OOboxters-- Thanks for the replies guys--It's helpful in to me-- I'm a real fan of the new GS and couldn't wait for it to come out etc---Have driven twice and still am fan. Additionally, I've never been interested in buying an LS---will likely buy a GS430-- However..... Until the Lexus sales rep suggested I test drive one, and I did.....Wow---it's with out question a step-up from the new GS----in just about ... Read More
Drove the GS 300 today. My impressions: Exterior: "In the flesh" this car looks alot different from the photos posted on the web site. Much crisper and sportier. I am not seeing much of the Maxima that I did in the initial photos. However, the car looks small and perhaps less substantial than the 2005. Exterior looks are completely subjective so I'll stop there. Interior: Excellent fit and finish, ... Read More
Anyone have a suggestion for me on whether or not paying a near extra 10K will be worth it for the GS430? I test drove the 2005 GS300, very disappointed in its responsiveness. From the reviews, it appears that the new GS 300 will go when you tell it to. I don't need to win a drag race but would like for the car to be able to merge onto the ... Read More
