Review

Very disappointing vehicle. I was looking for an upscale car that would offer low cost of ownership. This car has been very expensive to maintain and has required some costly repairs, including brakes and rotors. Very poor lighting in the cabin at night. Even the kids complain about the lack of lights. Switches are not backlit so finding the right switch is difficult. The temperature controls are absolutely horrible. Has independent temp control for passenger and driver but there is no correlation between what you set and what it delivers. It's as though the sensor is on the outside and not in the cabin. The voice recognition for the phone is mediocre at best. Paint chipping on hood.

Favorite Features

Bluetooth interface works flawlessly and keyless ignition is very nice. Seats are very comfortable.

Suggested Improvements

Better temp controls. Better interior lighting and backlight switches. Change feature that opens all windows when you hold the unlock button. Can activate unintentionally. A better idea is to have the windows go up so when a storm comes, you don't have to go out to roll up the windows.

Yep, it is the best car I ever owned, I traded my 2008 Chevy Impala LT that I bought new for a yes used Lexus with 25,000 miles on it 10,000 miles less than the Chevy and a year older, it came with a bumper to bumper warranty for 100,000 miles from Lexus...You don't drive a Lexus, it's more like you wear it, it's part of you when you drive and it will make a better driver out of you, because you don't mind slowing down for others because you know in seconds you can be up to speed again and with the auto/man shift 6 speed, this makes it like a real sports car and handeling is a snap. Braking like you have never seen and with all the safety features I got a $350.00 year discount from my Insurance.

Favorite Features

Taking the 15 min. lessons about the car from the sales person before driving the car, this is a must...adjust the car to your body is very important in this automobile then when it feels like a glove and you can feel the car then you can try it out. I have the "tandalin turquoise" paint.

Suggested Improvements

Spare tire...it needs to have a reg. size tire, not a donut tire...and the gas mileage is a little low but it never skipped a beat when I put the hammer down...

First Lexus. Great exterior look with sun and moon roof. Poor exterior paint quality and interior quality not what I expected for a Lexus. Tires did not last as expected. Overall, few problems just a little disappointing. Nav of little use- maps not up to date and system not user friendly.

Favorite Features

Exterior look, comfort in ride. Keyless remote entry, back up camera.

Suggested Improvements

Quality of paint finish and interior materials, carpet, seats, etc.

Review

My first Lexus. Very comfortable and quiet. Great fuel economy 23/31 for a large, comfortable car. Quality design. Disappointed in the thin paint, rock chips are very noticeable and the Michelin tires won't make 30,000. Large ugly mirrors to compensate for the thick roof supports. The wireless voice commands don't always do voice recognition. Expected more for $40K.

Favorite Features

Comfortable ride, quiet, short turning radius and great gas economy for a large car. Interior and exterior fob recognition (puddle lights).

Suggested Improvements

Wireless voice recognition for the phone doesn't always work properly, redesign big mirrors and add the Xenon blue headlights.

I have owned several ES in the past, but this is the first with GPS. I agree it is not up to par with the competition and I have been test driving many vehicles over the past couple of months. The voice command response is terrible and not worth the effort. Blue tooth has been fine. Biggest complaint is that GPS does not allow even a passenger to enter info while the car is in motion. Very frustrating as voice commands for navigation are not worth the effort.

Favorite Features

Comfort. Quiet. Smooth ride. Great dealerships and sales people.

Suggested Improvements

Need better navigation system.

I bought this Lexus and was SO pleased. I got it as a certified pre owned. It is a great quality car. As usual, Lexus and Toyota are ahead of the game. I strongly recommend this car!

Favorite Features

I really liked the wood paneling throughout the car. Including the steering wheel, AND the gearshift!! :)

Suggested Improvements

This car definitely needs improvements on the fuel mileage! It is practically terrible!

Pretty car. Great for long trips. Loud clicking in the engine until it warms. Taken to dealer several times and they report that it the noise is normal. However, loaner cars do not make that noise. Car has several rattling noises and is poorly insulated from road noise. Poor thigh support. Poor rear vision. Love the keyless entry. Love the large trunk.

Favorite Features

Keyless entry, large trunk

Suggested Improvements

More headroom, better rear vision, more thigh support in front and rear seats

This is the third Lexus overall and two in the family at once. One is an RX 350 for the mountains and snow days and the ES 350 is for everything else. The vehicle is all class. Easy on the wallet, and good gas mileage. I tried the Acura and traded it in on the ES 350 after less than one year. The ES gives me the comfort and power I want in a vehicle. I have never been back to the dealership for anything but standard maintenance service with the RX or the ES and both are 07s.

Favorite Features

Large trunk for golf clubs and suit cases. Keyless ignition and door locks. Stylish exterior and extremely detailed interior.

Suggested Improvements

Center console is a bit inconvenient at its current height. I would recommend aiming the headlights a bit higher for better night vision.

Definitely not a snow car. First real snow test. Very poor performance. Perhaps snow tires would make difference.

Favorite Features

Pretty good on gas and handles well.

Suggested Improvements

Bumpers not strong. Front bumper had to be replaced with minor collision over snow bank. And rear bumper dented badly while parking.

This is not my first Lexus and the only problem is the car has developed squeaks and rattles, sounds like the whole panel has a body flex when going over bumps. The whole panel behind and in roof sounds as if it is bending and making a terrible noise. It has been back to dealer and they have replaced seat and other parts still the same noise rattles/vibrates when I turn. I have stopped using the car 7,000 km in the last year used to be over 20,000 km. Great performance. I have only used premium and it returns great gas mileage. It takes several tries for the voice-recognition system to work. I will most likely go back to Infiniti.

Favorite Features

it is paid for gas mileage, entry system, performance.

Suggested Improvements

1- interior quietness and rattle free 2- Improved side/rear visibility 3- cup holder and repositioned the open/close button for the console compartment 4-interior lighting
