Review

This is the smoothest car I've ever driven. The inside styling would make you think your in a $70k car. Bought this car certified from Lexus at 44,000 miles. Now has around 50,000 miles and all have been trouble free. I also have a '98 ES300 that's a great car too. It has 130k miles and still drives like a dream.

Favorite Features

Interior styling, Leather seats, good gas mileage, everything's automatic.

Suggested Improvements

There is a pronounced hesitation, which Lexus really doesn't know how to fix it for good. There have been many software updates which have helped, but the problem still remains. Definitely not bad enough to ruin my experience with Lexus.

Review

My ES300 had about 9K miles on it when purchased 11/2003 and now has 40,523 miles and has been the Maytag of cars. In addition to regular scheduled service, the only outlay has been new tires and (battery which was replaced under warranty about a month ago). Lexus sent road-side service with a fresh one and literally 5 minutes later upon arrival it was good to go again. The tires were expensive costing about $900 for Michelins or $1200 for Bridgestone and I highly recommend the latter designed for the car. The Michelins do not handle as well at highway speeds and adversely affected the driving pleasure in my opinion.

Favorite Features

The ES300 is stylish and a pleasure to drive with rich wood accents and leather trim. Contrary to many new cars Lexus does a great job padding surfaces for greater comfort. I love the optional moving headlamps, heated seats, rear suncreen and one-touch open/close front power windows and sunroof.

Suggested Improvements

Radio and a/c controls on the steering wheel....a little more insulation for quietness and traditional lighted vanity mirrors vs overhead light on '02 model. Deeper factory-tinted windows (mine were tinted afterward). Deeper cupholders and rear split fold-down seats to trunk would be nice.

Review

This is our 3rd lexus, and each one has been wonderful! You can't beat the price and perfection that lexus offers. Any lexus easily can recieve 200,000 miles or more and run like a charm. The ES-300 is unmatchable by german auto-makers. This car is truely a nice riding mid-sized luxury riding machine period.

Favorite Features

sunroof, lines, ride, no noise, quiet, very nice interior.

Suggested Improvements

A bit more hp, and a pinch of agility.

This is my first Lexus ever. I test drove other competitive cars and found this car is the best. There was nothing to compare. Comfort, design (especially interior) and size. The best part was comfort and reliability. As you know Lexus can run 200,000 miles very easily. It drives like a heaven.

Favorite Features

Interior and comfort.

Suggested Improvements

Nothing.

If you need a dependable good looking vehicle. Then the Lexus ES300 is perfect for you. This car is faster than what most people say. This car just is all around smooth luxorious ride. If you want a race car then I would stay away from it. Navigation is a must.

Favorite Features

Navigation is perfect better than all others.

Suggested Improvements

Nothing

As cars go I've always been a Caddy, Chrysler guy- After I drove an '02 ES, I bought one. Everything about it is super. This car does not drive, it "hovers" above the rode. It's nimble, luxurious, solid, packed with amenities and has 95,000 miles!!! Before turning the car over to me, the dealership performed the 90K service package, replaced the timing belt, water pump, and threw on 4 new Michelins (even though they didn't need it). I'm totally won over to Lexus and it will take quite a vehicle to change auto choices again. It's so QUIET!!!

Favorite Features

Nimble handling, quiet cabin, great tunes, Xenon headlamps, roomy & plush interior (I'm 6'1"& 215lb), FWD.

Suggested Improvements

More HP would not hurt.

I tried to find a comparable American vehicle. I researched autos for over 6 months to find a vechicle that suited my needs and driving habits. I drive over 36,000 miles per year. Unfortunately, nothing comes close to the style, value, re-sale, dependability, and ride that a Lexus provides in an American model

Favorite Features

QUIET RIDE, handling, sheer-comfort, dependability (only oil changes), style, looks, sound system, moon roof, adjustable seats, dual controls, gas mileage for this much auto, power

Suggested Improvements

Like to see improvement in very few areas. I've noticed that the rear window defrosters are not as efficient as on my GM auto, and the cruise control has to be reset at every stop. The other MAJOR drawback if the required premium fuel - (thanks Bush for screwing up our energy prices among others)

Its an excellent fit of a car. I would never buy another American car because the service you receive is terrible in comparision to the Lexus dealership. They treat you and your car fantastic. But overall this is the best car I have ever had in 30 years. It can be a bit pricey with options but its worth it when you include the great service and support you get from them.

Favorite Features

Navigation system, comfortable and quiet ride, engine sound is minimal, service from any Lexus dealership is the best

Suggested Improvements

Like to see heads up display like I had in my Bonneville SSEi. More driver's set leg room. Telescoping steering wheel with radio controls which I now understand they have on the 2005's. All the controls on the dash lighted at night like heating and air.

The impulse acquisition of this Lexus from a good TV ad on the GPS (the Lexus came with it) was a poor decision on my part. I stepped down from Mecedes Benz and/ Seville quality. My "Lexus owning business associates" encouraged me to switch brands. "The're dependable and never in the shop!" In the first year they replaced the front brake rotors two times. I kept remarking about the engine/transmission match up and the "hesitation on acceleration/pausing, but was assured that I had a great imagination. It was recalled by a Lexus letter at a later date. The backs of the leather front seats would depart when the electric seat adjustment were initiated.I am happy back in a Mercedes Benz.

Favorite Features

I attended the Lexus dealer school on the operation of the GPS and the auto's systems operations. I found the audience knew more about the GPS than the instructor. Once into the GPS operation I found it was very satisfactory.

Suggested Improvements

Don't acquire the first year production of any model! Service people need to listen. If your customer says there is a problem then either fix it or take the car back--Don't wait for the factory to tell you that you need to repace the engine/transmission micro chip!
