    Yes, they did finally duplicate the problem and it was solved when the reset the computer and updated the software again. I have not had a problem since they have reset the transmission computer.

    I have a 2007 ES in dark blue. It also scratches and chips way too easily. I have never had this problem with BMW, Infiniti, VW and even a 1997 ES. The paint is just too fragile.

    That might be the dealer invoice price, but dealers are given incentives so they may have already received a discount from Lexus for this car. Consumer reports suggest starting negotiations at the invoice price.     Some dealer "Golden Valley" is selling 2007 ES 350 and says that these are the 350's that Lexus bought back and put in a new transmission. They come with a certificate from Lexus with the date and the work done. Is this a good vehicle to buy? Any issues with buying sight unseen for a unauthorised dealer? With Nav/Mark Levinson package and 4000 miles $36K.

    The Lexus dealer in Northern California is correct. The 2007 and 2008 ES 350 is only available in Black Interiors LA25 or Cashmere LA05. The allocation scheduling for the Lexus Western Area for August and September shows a Total of 203 ES350 made out of the 203 ES Made 95 will be 212 Black Obsidian with LA05 Cashmere and 108 212 Black –Obsidian with LA25 Black Interior.

    No, you can't compare the ES 350 to the Avalon. It really compares to the Camry, with whose dimensions and wheelbase it is almost identical. Use the comparator on either the Lexus or Toyota sites.
