2009 Land Rover LR3 Road Test Ratings

Superior off-road capability and an exterior design true to classic Land Rover.

Slow and ponderous with poorly-controlled body motions. Off-road capability is outstanding for those who need it. Dropping the V6 from its lineup was a good move. LR3s now come with a standard V8.

The LR3 rides smooth, almost too smooth the feel the road. The seats hold a wide range of body sizes, but are a bit flat.

Many of the controls are over-complicated, especially the audio system.

The LR3's design is a striking update of classic Land Rover themes. The interior design, however, is not nearly as cohesive.
