2006 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged 4dr SUV 4WD (4.2L 8cyl S/C 6A)
Having driven diesel landrovers for 3 years to drive a s/c V8 beast was just fantastic. Acceleration is phenominal and you can quickly exceed national speed limits without noticing. Going around corners fast is somewhat an experience with such a large vehicle, but stopping power is really good (thank goodness). Fuel consumption is hideous with a max overall of 15 mpg and a town drive of around 11mpg. Best I ever got was 22 on a motorway. But what the hey! the overall drive is just fantastic, sometimes I just pull away flat out just to listen to the V8, even pulled a coach off the road once, surprised me too. Performance is supreme, consumption terrible, but if you can affordone, go for it
The cars presence on the road has to be a favourite, it's big, it's awsome, it's very fast. Engine is smooth and quiet and vary rapid ICE for the children is great with cartoons on the TV all the time. Boot is massive. Dash looks impressive. Driving position is great.
BIGGER FUEL TANK. 23 gallons is just not enouph. I know that consumption is not great, but the s/c petrol has to have a bigger fuel tank. No question. The thought of touring through a country without a petrol station every 200 miles is a, "no go". The choice of higher profile tyres, for off road.
