    I also had a similar problem with my 2005 LR3. And it was a rat had crawled up in the engine copmaprtment and chewed up the wiring harness. Apparently Land Rover and other auto manufacturers in their effort to "Go Green" have started purchasing wiring and cabling with insulation made from Vegetable oil based plastics insted of petroleum based plastics.     Regarding Wiper Blades for the Land Rover LR3... I've had great success with the "Bosch Icon" Wiper Blades for the front! For the single rear wiper blade, Bosch makes the "Rear View" wiper blade! The front blades have a swept look to them. They also look superior, (my opinion), to the stock blades that originally came with the vehicle.     IN 2005 LR3s did not have bluetooth. You can have it added at any Land Rover dealer and it is around 1,000 dollars installed. When you are looking at the Land Rover website they are talking about 2008 LR3s and just about all of them have bluetooth phone connections.     What brand of tires did you buy? I am at 16,500 miles. My rear tires are worn much more than the front.     I had the worst luck with Land Rover. I even sent a written complaint to Land Rover of America. They did nothing! So I went straight to BMW and traded it for an X3. It's smaller but I love it! I must admit that I miss my LR3 but I do not miss the hassle. Good luck with everything!

    I am buying the car from a friend...just waiting for the title. He bought from a Land Rover dealer,i called the dealer and they said that after 12,000 miles they will not deal with the tire issue. They did say that they would do a free aliegment but the Wrangler tires are clearly cupped but not completely worn but horribly noisy

    I had the wood package put on my LR3. I posted a picture on this forum way back in December of 2005. If you look back, it's a black/alpaca LR3 HSE. The wood package offered by Land Rover was discontinued so my local Land Rover/Jaguar dealer used another company. Actually, the wood choices were more attractive than what LR had.     I am searching for used 2005 LR3 Seven Seat with the Heavy Duty Option. In general when asked over the phone or by e-mail, non-Land Rover dealers are unable to tell me if the LR3 in question came with the Heavy Duty option (even some Land Rover dealerships). What can I tell them to look for so they can give me a quick answer? Help!

    I recently looked at a 2005 LR3 SE with several options (not including the NAV or DVD), it is a retired loaner with 3k mileage. LR is offering it for $450 / 24 month lease, with 3k down that includes Tax, title and tags along with sec deposit, down payment and bank fee. 10,000 miles a year. Would anyone consider this a good deal????

    No problems have come up with the 2006 Fuel tank. You need to remember even though Land Rover has said most of the 2005 LR3 fall in the VIN range of possibly being an effected vehicle only a very small percentage have had problems. Less then one percent of our 2005 LR3's have had stalling problems and only one has had fuel leak out of the tank.

    General rule: Dealers are fairly clueless and often don't get details before you. Calling this an "exploding gas tank" issue is a bit excessive; read the full description.
