2002 Land Rover Discovery Series II SE 4WD 4dr SUV (4.0L 8cyl 4A)
Have owned mine for almost 4 years, and still find it fun and cool to drive! It's a definite head turner, and it really does have its own character! Very solid on the pavement, and will climb trees with ease! I test drove an LR3, and I'll tell ya what, I already know what my next vehicle is gonna be! There are less expensive SUV's out there all over the place, but if you want a vehicle with history and reputation, Land Rover simply can't be beat! For the money, the ride quality is great. Gas mileage is poor, but if you want good mileage, get a Kia or Hyundai!
Great performance in all types of weather conditions. Engine growl. Excellent visibility and ride height. Ice cold AC and hot heat. Oversize tires really look nicer than the stock 16". The aluminum/steel sheet metal body for a long body life. Ladder frame is reputed as the strongest in the industry.
Gas mileage is lacking for only 200 ponies. Turning radius rivals that of an 18-wheeler. Electrical system is definitely a British thing. Would like to see a longer wheelbase. In-dash CD changer would be a nice creature comfort.
