I don't know what to believe anymore... Please tell me that Autoweek got the dates wrong for the Optima. If you read the article, it says that the Optima is out "next year", and then the Hybrid out "1st quarter of 2011". Aren't they really the same timeframe? This is contrary to what Kia has "officially" put on their website. Also the Sportage 2.0T date could be wrong as well...this article ... Read More

So I went to replace the battery today and discovered the factory battery had no helpful info on it. No stores seem to have any info on this car's battery either. Any suggestions outside of taking it to the dealership?

Kia has recently started notifying owners of certain 2006 & 2007 Sportages about a recall for this same reason. ACMs are usually found under the driver seat or the passenger seat (on the floor). They can be really hard to get at for removal. Sometimes carpet has to be cut, and awkward bolts need to be removed. I am in the process of repairing a 07 Kia Sportage LX 4 WD. I have replaced air bag on wheel and seat belts. My question is I don't know where the air bag control module is located. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jerry

Hi- I bought a 2006 Sportage EX fully loaded and love it. I'm getting ready to take my first trip tomorrow. I'll probably look at 2007 & 2008 sportages. I'm also going to check out Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, Toyota RAV4 & Hyundai Tuscon (which looks to be almost the same as Sportage). Any advice?

dsFirst of all look at the price. You have to compare apples to apples. Look at the warranty. Kia 5year-60,000 bumper to bumper warranty and after it continues on the power train 10 years-100,000 miles, I have a 2003 Sedona and am looking to buy a 2007 Sportage EX w/ luxury pkg. Also make sure the dealer has a good reputatiion.
