I have a Kia Sportage with just over 60,000miles. Love the car. In the last few weeks is has started surging while at a stop then when accelerating it seems like it is stuck in 1st gear and wants to romp down the road. Folks, I had a problem with A/C getting cold then sputtering out. Landed in Antigonish Nova Scotia after traveling from Calgary. There is a Temperature sensor under the dash that needs to be replaced, we also experienced visible cold vapor from the vents, this took about four hours to replace and was covered by warranty. My 2005 Sportage had the same problem. I took it to a Kia service shop... sorry, I can't remember the particular whys...but they fixed it - under warranty. Read More...

The radio does not get electrical power. Where and what should I be looking for to fix the problem? The fuse is good in the fuse box. Is there a reset breaker some where for the radio? Any help to fix the problem would be appreciated. Read More...

I don't know if anyone else has gotten this issue resolved, but here's the scoop. I had the EXACT same symptoms on my 2006 Sportage V6 LX. Nobody, even the Albuquerque dealer where I purchased the car, could identify what the heck was happening. One time the dealer's mechanic even said that it was my gas cap leaking. LOL! That does seem a bit high. You didn't say what the negotiated price or taxes/fees were, but when I was looking at a lease of a Sportage just like yours recently, I was able to get a price of invoice less holdback, or about $18,300, with very little negotiating. You might be able to do better in CA, I don't know. Less the $2500 rebate is $15,800. Less your down payment ... Read More...

I'm having the same problem with the cruise control on my 2005 Kia Sportage. The first time it happened, one of the brake lights also went out. When I replaced that brake light, it started working properly again. But now it's doing it again. I cannot see how it could be covered with ice, please explain... ....One thing is not clear: does the air flow change during that event? Problem: If I'm driving with the AC on, after an hour the air from the vents becomes less and less cool until it is essentially the same temp as the air in the car. So I hit the AC button and let just the fan run for 10-15 minutes, then hit the AC button again (to turn it on), and the air blasts out cold! It stays cold for 20-30 minutes, and then the "coolness" fades again. ... Read More...
