I've had the Sportage one month and so far everything has performed to my expectations. I knew when I bought it that I was buying one of the cheaper sporty SUVs. It is not a powerful car but it gets about 24 mpg which is a great improvement from my previous car (Pathfinder) which got about 15 mpg.
The Sportage is a very quiet ride, even when the windshield wipers are on. The air cond. works great. I love all the little extras in the car (vanity mirrors, cup holders, fold out arm rest, and the spare tire is hidden under the hatch floor so it doesn't block your view)
Use smoother material for the steering wheel(its rough on the hands).
