Review

I have barely had any problems since I bought it. I tore the boot on the ball joint. Window channel problems. Which I have heard is not un-common on Japanese cars. Rust in the radiator after 85000 miles. And the only thing that might become a problem after time is the cluch slave which began to leak after 145000 thouuusand miles of use. I think this speaks for itself.

Favorite Features

price, size, reliability and gasmilege. About 24 mpg

Suggested Improvements

noise from engine and trany

Review

This is a great car for anyone who wants to graduate to an SUV, but doesn't want the expense or very low fuel economy of a bigger SUV. This is a comfortable, reliable vehicle. With scheduled maintanence (oil changes, tire rotation, belts, hoses and filters), this car needs nothing but gas!

Favorite Features

driver seat lumbar support fold-down back seats large trunk space good pick-up great air conditioning

Suggested Improvements

for the price, I don't think anything needs improving!

Review

I saw this SUV in Korea when they first came out in '95 and I've liked them ever since. I take it up in the mountains and out to the desert and it's never let me down. It's very sure- footed in Utah snow. Plus it's cute and sporty yet easy to get in and out of.

Favorite Features

4WD, ground clearance, head room, the kids love the stadium seating in back. And it's easy to get them in & out of a carseat- no awkward bending. The seats fold down for generous cargo space.

Suggested Improvements

A bin in the cargo area for storage that would be equal in height to the seats when they are folded down would be good. It would give a straight flat surface. Also, reduce engine noise and give it more power.

Review

I have owned this vehicle for two years. In the first six months i replaced the cateletic converter, the timing BELT (?) and the valves that were bent when the belt blew. I have had nothing but heart-ach with this vehicle. I would strongly advise anyone considering to buy a sportage to exploit all other options first.

Favorite Features

The only thing i like about this vehicle is the sound system that I instaled.

Suggested Improvements

Use higher quality parts!
