In the service manual you are required to change the gear oil for the transaxle every 60000 miles under sevre conditions not 30000.   Whenever my Kia is in deep snow for a period of time, I loose reverse and the tranny is stuck in low. As I drive in low, it will from time to time act like it is in neutral. The dealer will do nothing because by the time he looks at it--the problems are gone!!! This happened in winter of 2008 and now agin this winter--several times! HELP!!

  Hi ikillbugs, Say, what's the level of tint on your rear windows? It looks great btw. I google 2009 Kia Spectra window tint and yours is the first picture to pop up on google images.   Car dealers can be beat into submission at this time. Just bought a brand new specrta ex auto trans 12,042 out the door. Cleveland area. That's a good deal, but not quite as good as a written offer to sell I got for a new 2008 Optima LX (4 banger) for $12,914 and some change, which would be out the door.

  I bought a 2008 Kia Spectra in March 2008, and already have over 16,000 miles on it. Multiple commute destinations and drivers make it a 600 mile/week vehicle. I love the car, even though I don't get a chance to drive it much (share with 2 other drivers). Lumbar support is great for long trips, and mileage is exceptional.   well, if the stereo is your only real complaint, that's a pretty good overall review for your 2008 Kia Spectra EX. I have owned two Kia's, a 1999 Kia Sephia and a 2001 Kia Sportage 4X4. I'd even bet that KIA's long-term dependability scores won't improve dramatically for another couple of years due to Hyundai's influence not being totally realized until all of KIA's new models are rolled out.
