    Mine is a 2007 and the paint in the front (entire front) same thing. All these years, 3 dealerships and the same thing, no coverage. The latest excuse I got was they don't honor the paint warranty in New England because there is too much road debris. I guess they shouldn't sell Kia's in New England.     Im just about to buy a 2005 Spectra EX, 16k miles, and the front tires (stock manufacturer) are completely worn down, while the rear (Goodyear) is new. Dealer says stock tires are junk...they're throwing in 2 free tires. Just get yourself a reputable brand of tires (Walmart sells Goodyears now for $75 for this size wheel).

    I'm starting to see a pattern here. If you take it to the dealer and they don't experience the problem during a test drive they will do nothing. Post the problem with Kia. Whether you're the first or fifth owner of the car, the warranty should still apply.     avantime, If you think the issue is worth reporting visit the Kia website and submit a complaint. I believe you can also just call them directly at 1-800-333-4542 and select option number 3 to speak to a representative. They need to get feedback on this issue and they don't always get it from service departments.

    Natta: I know what you mean about the Spectra not downshifting all the way back down to 1st when doing rolling (or complete but brief) stops. It really makes the Spectra seem doggy. But... use the manual shift method of pulling the gearshift down to 1 and then shift through the gears manually, and the car scoots right along.     Well, your dealer would have no way to re-program the transmission unless Kia provides them with the new program. At least the dealer admits there is a problem and that Kia is working on it.

    I stand by my statement. One manual lever cannot adjust a seat bottom in the same way as do two manual controls that independently raise and lower different parts of the cushion.     Re the distinct lack of driver refinements, I found the driving position to be superior in the Reno/Forenza compared to the Spectra/Spectra5, mainly because of the dual-arc seat height adjuster in the Reno/Forenza. And all i can say is that these cars are not even in the same class as the Kia S5. the GM Dawoo /suzuki combination provides an uninspired attempt at exterior design.     Has anyone done research to find a roof-mounted bike rack for the Spectra (4 door)? I have looked on the Thule and Yakima sites but cannot find a match to the 2005 Spectra for a roof mounted bike rack. The Kia dealership told me that I can use the same rack that works for the Honda (I assume Civic) but I'm not convinced.

    The window stickers I've seen say "2004". Not to be confused with the other 2004 Spectras on the dealer lots, of the old design. Note to Kia: Just call them 2005s (ala Toyota with the 2003 Corolla) and get it over with! It's only five months until September.
