2012 Kia Sorento LX 4dr SUV w/Convenience Pkg (2.4L 4cyl 6A)
We were looking to purchase a fuel effecient Suv and the 32 mpg advertised on the sticker was awesome.
We went with the 2.4L 16-valve DOHC CVVT 4-cylinder engine.
However, we have driven 3,000 miles and have yet to get any where near 32 mpg.
This has been highway as well as back road miles.
The average mileage is between 24 mpg and 25 mpg no matter where or how we drive.
A relative purchased
the Ex model a few weeks after us and he hasn't gotten 32 mpg either.
Almost all of his miles are on the highway.
Other wise we love the vehicle!!!!!!!!!
We love the radio.
It is not a expensive system but the sound is crisp and clear.
The seats are very comfortable even for a tall person.
We love the way it looks inside and out.
Kia needs to be real on the mpg.
The steering is a little quick so you have to be careful when changing lanes on the highway or making a quick turn.
We use to have a Ford Explorer and it reminds me a little bit of the way it handled.
HAVING SAME PROBLEMS WITH OTHER MANUFACTURERS HAVE 2009 TOYOTA VENZA RATED FOR 36 MPG, NOW WITH 22000 MILES ON IT, CAN ONLY GET 28 MPG ON INTERSTATE 75 WITH CRUISE SET AT 65 DURING THE SUMMER, IDEAL TEMPERATURES. TOYOTA CHECKED AND SAID IT IS WITHIN THE EPA PERAMETERS OF WITHIN 20 % OF + OR - GOVERNMENT SHOULD HAVE MORE SAY ON THIS FALSE ADVERTISING. ALL THE COMPANIES, IF YOU READ MANY REVIEWS, ARE POSTING HIGHER MPG THAN MOST PEOPLE ARE RECEIVING. MOST PEOLE SEEM TO BE GETTING ABOUT 20 % LESS THAN THE ADVETISED MPG (which by the way would be under ideal condition, forget winter calculations)
+++make sure you reset your mpg trip button for more accurate readings on longer trips.
