I have a 2010 Sorento with 10K miles and was driving on I-95 last night. I thought someone hit me from behind because there was such a jolt. There was no car close enough to have hit me so I pulled over to see if I had hit something. There was no damage, but when I pulled back onto the highway the car was sluggish. As I continued to accelerate I ... Read More
I bought my 2012 Kia Sorento in April 2011, and after 10,000 I also started to notice the grinding noise during medium braking, (pulling into a parking space ect.) I complained and dealer tech. stated he didn't notice any noise. I took it home and sure enough did it again. I called back to take it in on Jan 11, 2012. I will post what they tell me...The noise sounds as ... Read More
Just received order from Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) in Texas: KIA must repurchase my vehicle!!! On the day of the hearing, a KIA representative accompanied myself for a test ride and the transmission was still jerking and slipping. That carried significant weight with the Judge. Thanks all and stay away from 2011 :) KIA Sorento's.
Has any else had issues when fueling this vehicle? After a few dollars are pumped the gas sprays back out and gets you covered in gas. It takes 20 minutes to slowly pump gas to eliminate this from happening. This started happening 2 months ago. Mileage was under 70k. Here is a thread about it but it is from 2011... http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2003/kia/sorento/fuel_system_gasoline/problem.asp- x
That's why I must have test driven the Sorento V6 and 4 cylinders numerous times. I pretty much knew from the start that the 4 was way too weak for this vehicle and noisy too. Put any passengers and luggage in and drive through mountains forget it. That's why I went with a 2011 EX V6 with the premium package. We get about 18mpg around town and 26 on the highway. ... I have had similar results with my 2012 EX with the GDI engine that is supposed to get up to 32 mpg on the highway. Mine has about 1,250 miles on it and I get between 22-24 mpg in what I call "mixed" driving, which is about half on the freeway. Hi Car_Man - Looking at leasing a Kia Sorento EX AWD I-4 GDI. I read that the residual value on the GDI's are ~58% according to ALG press release back in May 2011. I am familiar with this. This could be as easy as a short in the connection to the cruise control, whereas the cable could have come loose in the engine. I have seen this happen a lot of times with different vehicles especially after work is done. The KIA dealership/service is responsible for this under warranty, regardless of where the problem is.
I bought a new 2011 KIA Sorento LX (6A/4-I) in March 2010 and I now have 54,000 miles on it. I'm very happy with my Sorento except for one problem. they will both be worth the same. they are all B vin codes, which means 2011 so unless you happen to know where the sequence numbers ended off at the end of the year , which they wouldnt, you wouldnt be able to tell by the vin.
Yes but if you look at the vin # it will tell you if it was built in 2010 or 2011. I would rather buy the one that was built in 2011. So if I buy a 2011 this Jan. and trade in 2012 it will be 1 yr. old while yours will be 2 years old. Am I wrong to wait? .
a 2011 sorento is a 2011 sorento no matter when it was built. that is a big advantage to a person who trades alot. bought mine in march 2010 and can drive it a year and a half and still have a current year car to trade.
We just purchased a 2011 Kia Sorento SX for $26,985 + Tax/lic/doc fees. Vehicle MSRP was $32,990, invoice was $31,085. Sale price was $1,600 under invoice, or a total of $4,100 under invoice including the $2,500 in rebates. Just wondering how we did in comparison to other deals? Also, finalized negotiations today on the extended warranty with the same dealer. I'm purchasing a 10 yr/100,000 mi. extended Kia warranty, zero deductible ... Read More
Will there be a difference in trade in value on a 2011 Sorento purchased in 2010 vs. a 2011 Sorento purchased in 2011? I know that they skipped the 2010 model so that in 2011 the Sorento could be two years old.
I disagree totally with you as far as break in periods go. I have always found that MPG improves over time. I have found that even in my 2009 Ford Fusion that my peak MPG was reached at about 5000 miles. My Sorento has gotten better as well.. My EX V6 is running about 19 MPG City and just a hair under 26 MPG Hwy and I believe it will easily ... Read More
The finance guy tried selling us a 10 year Kia Bumper to Bumper warranty for an additional $1,400 with a zero deductable only at that dealership and a $100 deductable at any other KIA dealership. We said NO at the purchase time. I now offered them $1,000 with zero deductable at any dealer and we are waiting for their reply. Has anyone bought an extended warranty thru KIA? Your thoughts?
We just purchased the 2011 Kia Sorento SX model with FWD, V6, leather, navi. MSRP was $32,990, Dealer discounts include $4000, $1,000 factory rebate, $1,500 competitive or loyalty rebates. Sale price total was $26,990 plus tax/lic. including a BS $495 dealer prep charge. Carman, Do you have the current lease rates for the 2011 Kia Sorento EX V6 4WD for 24 and 36 months with 15k miles per year? Is the residual for 12k miles per year 2% higher? Thanks.
The computer in my 2011 EX V6 is pretty darn close. Maybe up to .5 Mpg above actual. Just figure it out manually for a couple of tanks after you fill up. I have about 2400 miles on mine and I ran up to 26.3 MPG on 4 lane and 2 lane roads between Columbus, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pa. Lots of road construction. My final overall MPG average that the computer ... Read More
I have a set of backup sensors I want to install on my 2011 EX. Kia Canada tells me I may invalidate the warranty and could interfere with the operation of other equipment if I do so myself. Nor can they supply me with a wiring diagram which is in the workshop manual given to authorised dealers. The odd thing about all this is that there is a Sorento model in ... Read More
Its been a couple weeks since I bought my new 2011 Sorento 4cylinder LX automatic. I am very skeptical of the mileage. The mpg average constantly shows 26 on my sorento mpg computer. Is this accurate or is it usually the real world is higher or lower than what the computer shows? If the real world is lower, by how much in terms of % is it lower? Any feedback and ... Read More
