However, I believe the dealership that oversaw the shop now does repairs at a new location, so beaware). The local Kia dealer here is offering a great deal on a nice red 2008 Sorento LX 2WD. The price is dealer invoice less a $5,000 rebate. That brings it down to a hair under $17K. For the same price, I can buy a 2005 4Runner with 45,000 one-owner miles on it. I also have a KIA Sorento that caused me some anxious moments. Its a 2005 and twice after driving at highway speeds then slowing down it would not speed up and shift to appropriate gear going uphill but rather stayed at about 40 - 45 mph. Just an update: Had 2005 K. sorento in shop for ICV recall. Found out only because engine light came on and problems accelerated on highway as well as hearing knocking noise. Very long story short and week later without car, found out some parts were sucked into engine. So now dealor calling a Kia rep to find out if they will replace WHOLE motor and if under warranty. ... I hear your pain. Have 2005 Kia sorento with 106K on it. told only worth 3K as trade in. I WOULD NEVER BUY KIA AGAIN!! I too need new engine because ICV problems. Hopefully covered under warranty but somehow doubt it will be. Tried lemon law since had prob since 60K but told too many miles to do anything about (even though less than 2 yrs at that time).
