    Has any else had issues when fueling this vehicle? After a few dollars are pumped the gas sprays back out and gets you covered in gas. It takes 20 minutes to slowly pump gas to eliminate this from happening. This started happening 2 months ago. Mileage was under 70k. I had to replace the tensioner pulley also, I made a tool to place in the holes of the tensioner pulley so that I could apply pressure, it works great, so great I afraid I might have it to tight.     2011 Sorento curb weight: 3763 lbs....175hp/169 ft-lbs torque 2.4L I4 engine 2003 Accord curb weight: 3128 lbs....160hp/161 ft-lbs torque 2.4L I4 engine -Should not be that much difference in mileage. Sorento is heavier but has more torque and horsepower. I still believe the difference is mainly final drive ratio. Why wouldn't KIA make better use of the 6th gear?

    I got the brake pad caliper off and the two screws from the factory, but the rotor feels stuck. I heard about combination brakes on some cars where they have both disk for stopping and drum for emergency brakes. It is probable the drum brake shoes are holding it in place.     if you have never had the coolant reservoir replaced (plastic tank on the left rear of the engine compartment as I recall)....it is probably cracked on the bottom (known problem with this reservoir in early models)...and that is what is leaking....part runs around $90-100 plus install....if you have a few tools....you can install it your self...otherwise..expect and 1/2 hour to an hour labor charge.....in addition to the part....for around $175-$200 for ...     Initially, my 2003 Kia Sorento had a perfect door lock/ security system. suddenly, the system became very erratic. The doors do not lock automatically again when I'm inside with the ignition on as was the case. Even the lock button on the driver's door does not control the locks anymore. Can somebody advise what I can try?

    May I join you? My 2003 Sorento EX AWD(53K miles now) has a long repair list too. But they weren't that serious as yours. I estimated all warranty repairs since day 1 is $8000 to over $10000. I looked at the bill (dealer's copy) for my last warranty repair in two months ago. It was like $1900 plus two weeks of dealer's loaner. AND my time (= money) too!

    2004 Sorento EX pur 12/31/2004 (traded in my 2003 with $30K and NO problems to get a new one with a new warranty due to a great trade-in and $3K rebate) also have had NO problems. Don't listen to the nay sayers. Lexus and Mercedes and BMW have them too! I doubt if my experience is rare. Complainers are always louder than satisfied owners. It's a great SUV!!!

    I have a 2003 Kia Sorento. I do have a lot of problems with my Sorento. But all of them were repaired under warranty. Thing is there are only few dealers around and it's to find a good & trusted one for services. I will still consider Sorento (07 or future model).
