No they are not all the same. I test drove three of them. The first was very sluggish and I could see the gas gauge dropping on a short test drive. The second one was much better, but nothing more than normal. The third one was very "peppy". It responded very well with a light touch. This was the one we bought. My first problem with my van was whenever I am driving between the speed of 100 to 140 kph, I felt vibration on my steering wheel everytime I apply brake gradually to lessen my speed. 2004 model with 11,000 miles on odometer. Five 250 mile trips in an area varying from sea level to 4000 feet above. 3/4 loaded, A/C on. Moderately heavy foot. 70 to 80 mph, mostly freeway miles. 16.15 mpg average for 1060 miles. Read More...

In reading your post about the price of Sedona's, you must be buying your Kia from Speedway/Daytona Kia? That price sounds like a good deal to me! We paid more than that for a 2004, but is has leather, 2 year Auto-Butler service, and a few more perks. The 1/2 percent additional tax makes me think you are in Volusia Cty. 2004 Sedona. 10,000 miles now. A/C is always on. Usually 3 to 5 bodies in van. Used mostly in town but not stop and go freeway congestion. Mileage has improved since new. Averages 16 or so in town. On long warm weather highway trips at 70 to 80 mph with some mountains about 19 to 20 mpg average. Elevation changes in 120 miles or so is from 1150 to 7000 feet. I'll update ... Read More...

The transmission in a 2004 Kia Sedona Van purchased in new in Louisiana failed and unbeknownst to the customer was replaced with a remanufactured transmission. In addition, this KIA Sedona van has been in the shop over 10 times in less than 18 months for various problems with the exterior, trim, interior, transmission, undercarriage, suspension, etc. This ... Wantecon, Couple reasons why the Kia van has bad mileage: It is a heavy vehicle; it weight as much as a Chevy Tahoe (~5000 lb). That is about 1000 lbs heavier than the old GM minvan (w/ shaky structure), 400-500 lbs heavier than a Toyota or Honda minivans. So one can't escape the law of Physics here.
