phill1. I going for the 2012 Kia Rio5 Hatchback in the Fall when it finally gets launched and retiring my 2006 Kia Rio5 Hatchback that I`ve owned almost 6 years with 67K mileage. Time for a new one! Wow, your 2006 Kia Rio5 HB only had 67K after 6 years! Our 2001 Kia Sportage 4X4, purchased on Sept.29, 2001, and traded in on our 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS on March 21, ... Read More
Hi. I'm a college student looking at cars, and I found a used Kia Rio the other day. It's a 2007 model with 64k miles on it, and they were asking for $6,000 for it. It comes with only a 60-day warranty from the dealer, but there's an optional extended warranty that will cover it to 100k miles. Does this sound like a good deal? And can anyone give me a ... For that amount of $14k you should be able to get a 2007-2008 Corolla and if certified a good warranty. Consumer reports gives in a very high rating but to over all compare these two cars is not fair. Kia has came along way in the past few years but if you are ask me take the Corolla and the track record. Take a look on the road when you are ... Read More
I traded in my 2003 Chevy Impala on sunday for a 2007 Kia Rio. I was on the "ehhhh" side about getting a car that small, but i am 20, dont have any kids, and needed better gas milege. So the kia was the cheapest (money wise) and easiest way to go. Turns out i love the car. It is actually pretty comfy, and drives extremely well. I am still getting ... Read More
I also bought 2007 rio5 newspaper ad had them listed 50 mpg do not pay for a year and I was also looking for a better gas car dealer told me 50mpg was excellent...after all the paper work was done a few later the had the same ad with the mileage at 46 mpg..I then e-mailed kia to explained the 2 ads they had given me blah blah....Strange enough I have ... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have two plugs that I do not wknow where to put, one has a single brown wire going to it, and the other has a dark blue and red wire going to it. they are both located in the front passenger side of the engine department. btw this is in a 2007 kia rio with automatic transmission, but it should be very similar in most of the 06's. please ... Try this link instead. This is probably the only car I would trade my 2006 Rio5 in for! http://www.cargurus.com/blog/2007/03/12/kia-does-its-research-the-2008-rio-hybri- - d/
This is supposed to come out in 2008 or 2009 maybe? They're going through major road testing right now, I guess to get everything right. I think it showed at the Geneva Auto Show, but I haven't seen too much about it. It will be cheaper than Honda or Toyota, so that's a good thing, I guess. I don't know much about Kia, but I feel like their cars have improved ... Read More
What sells Kia (at least for me when I bought my 2004 Rio Cinco)is the 10/100,00 mile warrenty. I have yet had a need to use it at 32,000 miles. I agree about the black molding...on mine it's body colored. I wonder if it could be painted. I have to admit I am attracted to the 2007 styling of the Aveo...but that center dash display has got to go. The Yaris ... Read More
the 2007 Toyota Yaris 5-speed Barcelona Red base sedan I'm eyeing right now at my local Pocatello dealer is selling for $14,650 and includes the 15" steel wheel upgrade, several "power package" ugrades in the stereo, battery, larger, level washer fluid reservoir (I know, but Toyota advertises the upgrade like it's something some of their small-car customers are craving!), power W/L/M's, etc. What I didn't expect was the fact that this ... I recently priced out a Versa with cruise, ABS, side bags/curtains, A/C, power package, 6-speed tranny, and CD stereo for $13,805. Kia should add that cruise pretty quick. Maybe they will do what Hyundai is doing with the Accent and introduce the 2007 Rio early, with some tweaked options. :)
the black interiors and I think that black would be a natural for a black '06 Kia Rio sedan. I am amazed how cool a color black looks on this '06 Kia Rio sedan! I have seriously added a 5-speed black '06 Kia Rio sedan, with A/C and competent factory stereo to my futures list. I wouldn't absolutely require power W/D/M's, either. I would need A/C and I wouldn't need ABS, ... Read More
kb4 mused: "God, that interior color is horrid. What happened to the nice black or grey colors they used to have?" Aside to KR06: Don't take my restated observations personally. I just found it interesting that someone independently came to a similar conclusion (albeit presented a bit less diplomatically) as myself. I figured that the above quote was a good trigger to revisit my sentiments back in post #160 "The red ... Read More
You said, in part: In my mind the 2006 Kia Rio and soon-to-be-released 2006 Hyundai Accent (and, of course, the next-size car up) are the size I would feel safer in than in the 2007 Toyota Yaris or the new Nissan Versa, etc. If I wanted to buy one of those cars I would demand the car have SAB's and SAC's. Well then, :D You're problem is solved, because the Accent ... Read More
I am one who chooses not to immerse myself into speculating on just how an accident might go down. I choose to buy the type of car I like and then drive the car responsibly, at all times and in all weather conditions. I realize that some moron could plow head on into me some dark night or even in broad daylight, but it wouldn't happen without me trying to evade ... Read More
Drove by the dealership tonight.... no Rio5's yet again. This time there were 2 additional new Rio sedans on the lot. In addition to the Olive Beige they've had for several weeks now, there's a Cashmere Beige (sort of a Gold), and a Tropical Red model. The red exterior with the black interior looked good. The black interior is basically monochromatic though... thus it's a pretty dark place in there. That ... Read More
good point. It's cool for me to wait on '06 Kia Rio crash test results as I'm not in a rush to trade in just yet, anyway. These will be interesting crash results because if I'm not mistaken this is a brand new Kia Rio design. Also, these are the CVVT engines, too, that put out less emissions and get better gas mileage than their old Rio motors. I'm thinking about ... Read More
Looking at the specs, you can see a significant difference between the high gear ratios of the manual and auto transmissions. I suppose that can explain the automatic's better highway mileage... It's good to see improvement over the current model. But Kia will need to bring a hybrid version of the Rio (supposedly considered for 2007, along with a Hyundai Accent hybrid) to really compete on the mileage front.
Has anyone seen the new Kia Rio? Check it out at this link. http://autoshow.edmunds.com/news/autoshow/articles/103626/page043.html?tid=edmunds.e.autos- how..leftnav.44.** I think this will become the new king of the budget sedans such as the Chevrolet Aveo, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Echo. Maybe someone should throw these cars together in a comparison test. I also hear Honda will introducue a budget sedan called the City to the US in 2007. The Honda City is already on sale ...
