doesn't your 2006 Kia Rio5 need it's timing belt changed out then? Also funny you mentioned lousy "timing belts", I have 70K on my 06` Kia Rio and it is still on its original. The new 1.6 ltr GDI engine in both the 2012 Accent & Rio now have a direct gear (diamond coated) timing assembly replacing the previous "timing belt". Those usually need change-out at only 60,000 miles. Just mentionin'. ... Read More

First of all, the 2012 Kia Rio Sedan or Rio5 Hatchback is only available in a 6 speed manual transmission I believe or 6 speed automatic. built to have a lot of cargo space in back. It's built for a sporty feel, to toss into turns. The Healey review does not dampen my enthusiasm for the car at all. He doesn't like Kia and his bias is so strong it causes him to nitpick. I am on my 2nd Kia and both have had a bit of a buzzy sound on acceleration, but you can push Kia's ... Read More
I'm thinking the same thing. The new 2006 Kia Rio sedan and Rio5 both look really good. A lot of car for the money and great performance and fuel economy.
Being a small-car lover, I am thankful for all the great low-end car options that will be available within 6 months. Consider that just a couple of years ago, low-end car choices were: Accent, ECHO, and Rio. That's it. And those cars were pretty crude, especially the Rio. By next spring, we'll have the following choices in low-end cars: Accent 4-door sedan (new design) Accent 3-door hatchback (new design) Aveo Fit ... Read More
BTW-there is no scientific research available on the Internet or even your local bookstore (or even your favorite local newspaper)that can substantiate any way that Kia Motors was improved by Hyundai Motors. Now although this message comes from some time ago, keep in mind that the Sephia was built atop a modified Mazda 323 and 626 platform. I used to own one and was not a bad car, but recently had ... I am glad my local Kia didn't have the 2006 Rio 5's yet when I went to buy a Cinco. I wound up buy a 2004 Cinco with 1,917 miles. I think the Rio5 looks too much like a "hatchback" as opposed to the "station wagon" look of the previous generation.
Kia Rio5 takes over for the Kia Rio Cinco. It's a whole new design, with a wider stance and side and side curtain airbags standard. There's an orange-reddish one at my local Kia dealer that has a 5-speed transmission, A/C, power everything, for $14,095. It's pretty sharp looking. I'm taking a good look at it. It may be too small for us inside, we'll find out at test-drive time. I may ... Read More

Then again, I tend to hate beige interiors overall." Since I only paid $13,373 (minus tax/dest) for my loaded Spectra, I still consider it a "low-end" car. It's design and execution obviously isn't low end, but ... Read More
the black interiors and I think that black would be a natural for a black '06 Kia Rio sedan. I am amazed how cool a color black looks on this '06 Kia Rio sedan! I have seriously added a 5-speed black '06 Kia Rio sedan, with A/C and competent factory stereo to my futures list. I wouldn't absolutely require power W/D/M's, either. I would need A/C and I wouldn't need ABS, ... Read More

kb4 mused: "God, that interior color is horrid. What happened to the nice black or grey colors they used to have?" Aside to KR06: Don't take my restated observations personally. I just found it interesting that someone independently came to a similar conclusion (albeit presented a bit less diplomatically) as myself. I figured that the above quote was a good trigger to revisit my sentiments back in post #160 "The red ... Read More
My mother's 2002 Cinco has a grey interior. It has yet to show any dirt. I am hoping the same for my beige interior.
My dealer here in Houston has yet to recieved any Rio5's. From what I hear no one has. I went to buy one on August 9 and the had none. I was told the would have them in 2 weeks. They still don't them. I was told the waiting list was about 20 people. Since I couldn't wait, which wound up being a good thing. They had a 2004 Cinco with ... Read More
The only colors i have seen the interior so far is that color or grey. they grey isnt the same tho, i actually didnt like it. The only thing i dont like about this color is its VERY light and gets dirty real easily. Other than that i like it
Which color don't you like, the tan or the grey? Actually I think the tan is pretty nice, lends an airy feeling to this small car. I'm not fond of black interiors, especially in small cars--gets claustrophobic.
I think God knows about it.
God, that interior color is horrid. What happened to the nice black or grey colors they used to have?
Erase period at the end of your link. It works just fine without the period.
