    doesn't your 2006 Kia Rio5 need it's timing belt changed out then? Also funny you mentioned lousy "timing belts", I have 70K on my 06` Kia Rio and it is still on its original. The new 1.6 ltr GDI engine in both the 2012 Accent & Rio now have a direct gear (diamond coated) timing assembly replacing the previous "timing belt".     2006 Kia Rio Lx, My first fill up this afternoon with 238 miles, yield me with 32.1 MPG. I like to see something around 36MPG or better after break in time.

    I looked on a previous post and see that you mentioned a 2004 Rio Cinco. From what I can find, it doesn't look like they break out the Cinco from the Rio sedan.     I have found that theautochannel.com is a great source of almost all carmakers sales figures. You just have to dig on the site to find them. An easier way would be to Google "kia sales figures 2004" or whatever year you're wanting to know. If you aren't able to find it, tell me what year and model(s) you want to know and I'll track down the info for you.

    C/D's was an estimated time. Motor Trend's was actually an instrumented test. Big difference, and I'd put more credence in the instrumented test, even if it is from MT, which I dont particularly care for. ~alpha

    I am on my second Rio Cinco. My first was a 2002 and now my 2004. I like the 2004 better I couldn't believe how much improvment 2 years made. You are right about the buzzy sound but mine will respond also. IMO the 2006 will carry on that tradition.

    I am glad my local Kia didn't have the 2006 Rio 5's yet when I went to buy a Cinco. I wound up buy a 2004 Cinco with 1,917 miles. I think the Rio5 looks too much like a "hatchback" as opposed to the "station wagon" look of the previous generation.

    The only colors i have seen the interior so far is that color or grey. they grey isnt the same tho, i actually didnt like it. The only thing i dont like about this color is its VERY light and gets dirty real easily. Other than that i like it

    Which color don't you like, the tan or the grey? Actually I think the tan is pretty nice, lends an airy feeling to this small car. I'm not fond of black interiors, especially in small cars--gets claustrophobic.
