    Optima is a good looking car but.......... After quoting with 3 dealers in my area (South FL) I have decided to detail my 2007 Camry (50k miles) for $120. My "old" car still looks good and runs with NO problems. Don't fall for the hype A KIA is just a KIA, is not an Infiniti is not an Acura.     Check the voltage across the battery terminals with the car idling and report back. I have a hard time believing that both headlights could fog up at the same time.

    I don't know about that other stuff,but my 2006.5(2007)KIA Optima with the 2.4 engine does have a timing chain.(Thank the Gods) But that Suzuki sure is a nice nice looking car.

    I have 58,000 on my 2007 Kia Optima and it continues to run like a charm! I have only had one issue to date - the serpentine belt needed to be replaced at 30,000 miles - a little soon in my estimation. I'm assuming it was a quirk. The car still looks and runs great!

    I just changed it at 25K and the dealer asked "why so soon"? I do it every two years,but I know the manual requires it at 18K if heavy use.is your use considered so heavy? It cost around $75,but if you get it flushed,it is very much pricier.

A bona-fide safety recall action, i.e. triggered by the NHTSA, would state the nature of the recall and would not give you only 72 hours to respond in order to honor the extended warranty.     Just look at the Carmax site, they are selling a 2007 Mazda6 I Sport, (not VE) with 20k for $17.7 stock #: 5366031 Rebates might effect resale value, but those rebates might be gone next year. i.e. don't think the 2009 will have a rebate.     What is weird is that Kia had two Spectra models, each designated 2004. That was really confusing. Journalists and others took to calling the new Spectra "2004.5" just to keep it straight from the old one. Similarly, VW didn't officially call the 2005.5 Golf a 2005.5, but the "New Golf."     The 2006.5 is the 2007,but the 2008 is slightly different.I think only that the EX lost the cassette deck.However,all are pretty much the same car with the same issues and same power train so why not consolidate.I'm all for it.BTW has anyone looked up KIA Optima on youtube?     The issue was with the air-bag on the passenger side not working.They re-flashed the computer and that fixed it.Expect good gas mileage on the hwy,but probably not initially.It might take a few thousand miles to see that.I have a 4 cylinder with automatic, and I have gotten as high as 36 MPG.     Thank you! I took a drive again last night, and it appears to be better, but you are right, the pattern is weird. Other than that, I love the car. Rides real nice and quiet. Has nice pickup on takeoff. I had a Scion XA before, so anything would seem better I'm sure, but I really like the car. How about you? :)

    The only problem I have with the low beams on my Optima is a weird pattern you can see when going slightly downhill,but the lights seem bright enough to me.They illuminate better than my old Town & Country.

    The Optima is a very small looking car especially from the rear.My Sonata definitely looked more substantial.
