Nope, totally different...don't see anything that is similar really. The Forte is nicer though and will sell a bunch I predict. Being a Civic owner, I just do not like the 2012 or 2013 and would never buy another. They need to shrink the new Accord and sell that as the Civic as the Accord is a home run for Honda. If I had to purchase new right now, no Honda ... Read More
Pulled up next to a new Elantra GT and the car is a looker, no doubt about it and much better looking than the Veloster. Hyundai/Kia seems to be on a roll lately making handsome vehicles that customers want to buy...a great position to be in. And the warranty helps as my wife who knows next to nothing about a car knows about the long warranty Hyundai/Kia products have so their ... Read More
have had the specs checked by the dealer? that's not the site to use for your problem anyway, they are just there to answer questions with regards the rebate program, you should be posing your complaint to the Kia Motors US website The 2.0L Forte engine and the Soul 2.0L engine are not the same. The Forte has used the same Theta II series engine since its introduction in 2010. The ... Read More
Over a period of one month, I have been trying to speak with representatives at Kia's MPG Reimbursement program about the serious mpg problems of the 2013 (and i assume the 2012 also) Kia Forte 5-Door EX. It took me one month to finally reach someone who apparently had the power to adjudicate my situation. These are the facts I gave that person: -Over four gas fillups the car averaged 21mpg. ... Yes. I have now had my 2012 KIA Forte 5 EX for seven months, and have been shocked at the horrible mileage. I held off, as I was waiting to see how it "broke in." And in-spite of the salesman saying it gets better than advertised; I discounted that, and went with the stickered average. That being the case, and doing 90% highway driving on a 20 mile commute, I was ... Read More
I am pretty furious. My experience with my 2012 Forte Sx has been less than optimal to date. I liked the "get up and go" that the car had, and enjoy it's look. My problem: by my one year anniversary I have lost the love. There are spots on the hood where you can see white underneath the red paint, suggesting that peeling is on it's way. Dealer says NOT COVERED. ... Read More
I had a 2012 Kia Forte EX (sedan) with just over 8k. We were driving it home from the grocery store and it started smoking (about 30 mph) so we pulled it over, and upon putting it into park we lost all power and couldn't get the key out of the ignition. By the time we got out and tried to open the hood, the paint was bubbling away and the ... Read More

I don't recall the exact price paid but I will address my experience with the KIA company and KIA Santa Rosa. I intended to purchase the 2012 KIA Forte EX, the salesman was really pushy to close the deal the same day and ended up offering the model the way I wanted to be shipped to the dealership. Turned out after all the paperwork was signed I realized the car ordered ... Read More
I paid $17,713.00 out the door from Dothan Kia in Alabama for a 2012 Kia Forte EX 5-door hatchback, 6 speed automatic in Titanium with a stone interior. The car had auto-dimming mirror w/compass, wheel locks, rear bumper applique, cargo net, cargo tray, splash guards and an I-pod cable. This price included 6% sales tax (I live in Florida) and all dealer processing fees. There was no trade-in. I got $2,000.00 ... Read More
You're absolutely right about the test drives. I have only one Subaru dealer close to me. It's not near the freeway and the test drive is a 10 minute loop. I tried to rent cars that I was interested in; however, all the rental car agencies had at the time were last year's models. Considering that Hyundai and Kia both have made considerable changes from the 2010 to 2011 models, there ... Read More

Hi there, I am new to leasing and hoping to get some information before having to make all of the decisions. I have a no-haggle price of $21,000 on a loaded SX hatchback and am wondering the money factor and residual value for the car assuming a 15,000 mile per year limit. Relatedly, I am planning on trading in my current car (likely trade in value of about $3500) toward the ... Read More

If you are looking to buy Kia Forte, there is a $1000 cash back offer from Kia that ends in one week. I assume this is to clear out 2011 inventory. Since there is no change from 2011 to 2012, this is an excellent discount. I successfully got the last fully loaded White 2011 SX 5 Door in Southern Cal for my daughter. I don't think Hyundais have the exact same 100K powertrain warranty as a Kia... Actually, Hyundai had it first, then Kia got it due to their relationship with Hyundai. I would be shocked if the new Elantra came out before the 2012 MY, given the current design debuted in late 2006, as a 2007 MY, only a bit more than 3 years ago.
