  don't think that there are many good leases deals with the kia because of the poor resale values and that's a big factor when negotiating a lease deal.the kia's are worth peanuts as soon as you drive one off the lot.your best bet would be to lease a honda or toyota because of the better resale values which would lead to a better lease deal.

  I think it's hard to justify a claim of Toyota leading ANYONE in safety with millions of its cars, including the 2010 Corolla, recalled for a safety-related defect. Toyota can't even claim a single vehicle as an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Kia at least has one, the Soul. The Forte hasn't been tested by the IIHS yet. How is the 2010 Corolla superior to the Forte in safety?

  The "New" EPA window stickers are pessimistic in my eyes. I've NEVER gotten highway mileage as bad as those stickers indicate I should be getting, and I don't drive 55 everywhere, and I also like to hear the VTEC snarl at 6000 RPM! The old EPA numbers are a pretty good indication of what mileage I can expect.

  my fuel economy isn't as good as i had hoped for although i only have 5000 miles on the car and it's still breaking in.hopefully,the fuel economy will improve as i put more miles on the car...however it is i would say below 30 mpg all around and probably closer to about 25 which is what the mpg city estimates say on the window sticker.

  I think there are three types of odometers. You can click your odometer (there is a pin I believe) ant check with odometer A, B and C something like that. I think you pick the local trip odometer which will be automatically reset after 1000 mile drive.

  I had wondered about the 4-door unlocking myself. I asked the salesman about it, and he thought that it was programmable: no unlocking, driver's door only, or all doors. It's probably mentioned in the manual.

  Well steven39, I am now just like you: a Kia Forte owner. I love the car! It's a great car. There are a few things that will probably annoy me about the car: 1. There's no keyhole for the trunk. 2. The door unlocks automatically when the car is placed in park.

  You got the Kia Forte EX for $16000. That's amazing! The cheapest Forte EX that my Kia dealer sells is about $17740 before taxes. Granted, that car is loaded but without sunroofs.   And I just filled up for the fourth time after 463 miles. I got 38.3 mpg, but the driving was mainly easy highways at 55 to 65 mph, with about 30 miles of in-town driving. It seems that the Forte engine is getting broken in, with about 2000 miles on it now.

  these are the differences between the forte EX and the LX.the EX has power windows,locks,cruise,side mirror blinkers,remote keyless entry,and a few interior upgrades over the LX.both models however share the same engine.hope this helps.

  WOW saw two the last few days they look nice on the road. Here are some reviews on the pro and cons but it looks like Kia did good here.   according to the 2010 kia forte brochure the forte sedan with auto trans weighs in at 2,740 pounds...however it feels like a much heavier car especially on the highway where it stays planted to the pavement and doesn't get blown all over the highway from crosswinds like the 2010 toyota corolla that i test drove did.

  well folks,i finally purchased a forte EX today after test driveing several cars including toyota corolla,elantra,and mazda 3..got car for $16,000.00 plus TTT.this forte blows away the corolla, and the mazda 3 as far as power,handleing,quiet interior,and warranty..color is metallic dark cherry with coffee interior so they call it.

  Yes! I agree completely. I just compared the two, and ended up leasing a corolla. The only reason I did so was b/c you can't lease a forte... However, I think it is a great car to buy!
