Review

Now this is what I’d call going to buy a car at first sight! This is a true dream car; we love it, so smooth, quite and comfortable. We had no intention of buying a car, but after a test drive, we were sold. I think the gas mileage is great at 26.8 highway; local driving, not so good. But overall, huge trunk space and a wonderful sound system, good acceleration, back seat ride, and those heated seats are really nice in the winter. This is a great car for the money. The KIA Amanti is a well built car. The ride is very smooth and quiet.

Favorite Features

Favorite features: Great looks, ride, sound system, seat controls on door panel, heated seats, mirrors that lower as you back the car, so many great features. Side curtain airbags and front passenger airbag monitoring, manual shifting, gas mileage, style, heated memory seats. Looks like a Jag.

Suggested Improvements

Better gas mileage, light under hood, the headlights should stay on longer after exiting the vehicle. Lights stay on longer when remote is pressed for security at nights.

Great car

Actually purchased used after having been a Hertz Rental. Have had the car for over a year and it has performed flawlessly. Comfortable to drive as the leather seats are heated and can be positioned for comfort - with lumbar support! Only complaint is economy. About 24MPG on the highway and 19MPG in town. Our previous car was a 97 Cadillac V-8 that had better gas mileage but not near as fun to drive as our KIA Amanti.

Favorite Features

Appearance is outstanding both outside and interior. Comfort is excellent for both driver and passengers. Quiet car to drive and easy to handle.

Suggested Improvements

Needs to improve on gas mileage. Not good for a V-6 engine. Headlights should remain on for a short duration after exiting the car.

My Amanti

Review

I had a 740i prior to this Amanti. I enjoy this car much better, the fact it has everything my other car had and the maintenance is 1/10 the cost. It's fun to drive long distance, and gets an average of 25 miles to the gallon on long drives. As a luxury car, I will consider this the best one I've own. Performance is a little on the weak side, but the driving is a great pleasure to behold the owner. Many strangers have commented to myself and my spouse of how much they like the looks of the car, not to mention mistaking it at first for a Mercedes or Jaguar depending if the reference was from the rear or front. After looking at various cars, we were sold on this one with no second thought.

Favorite Features

Computer control panel, comfort of stereo controls on the steering column, heated seats, and computer programming of the seats and mirrors, including the control panel on the rear mirror.

Suggested Improvements

Ease of use of the horn when hitting it and a little increase in horsepower.

Review

So far I have 18,000 miles on the vehicle; during the summer I took a 4,000 mile trip over a 2 week period. The gas mileage was between 20 and 25 MPG; around town I get an average of 17. I still enjoy getting in and driving it. I would recommend it to anyone. The vehicle I traded in on this one was a 2003 Kia Sorento which was excellent and this Amanti is too.

Favorite Features

The comfort when you get in it and the relative quietness as you drive off.

Suggested Improvements

The gas mileage should be at least 3 or 4 MPG better, otherwise it's OK.

Review

We gave up a DeVille for the Amanti and it has been a great luxury car. The gas mileage could be a lot better but everything so far, seems to been built very well.

Automatic shifter.

Gas mileage has to get better.

Review

Overall not too bad of a car. Have a strange clicking when turning in reverse. Interior is real nice, need to make a change to the exterior rear of auto - too plain looking, doesn't go with the nice front end.

Favorite Features

The interior is by far a class act in itself with a very nice stereo system.

Suggested Improvements

Do something with the rear end of the car and offer some other colors.

Best vehicle I have ever owned!

Review

I have had this car for a year now. My husband and I continually tell everyone that this is by far the best vehicle we have ever owned. I didn't know what is was when I saw someone driving it. Unlike me, I walked up to a total stranger and asked him about the car. He said he traded his Mercedes for this and he was more pleased with the Amanti. My husband is six and a half feet tall and it is important that he has head-room and has enough legroom. Of course, that generally cramps anyone in the seat behind him, but not in the Amanti. We chose this over a Lincoln and a Cadillac. We have advised two other couples to buy this. They thank us when they see us. Our next car will be an Amanti.

Favorite Features

Exterior design; interior roominess; headroom; guarantee; runs quietly; no repair problems; no hidden drawbacks; safety features; the continual compliments when we drive in at a public place.

Suggested Improvements

V-8 engine. Darker carpeting.

Review

We owned two Sedonas and were pleased with the safety styling and value when the Amanti was introduced. We purchased one with the optional electronic stability control. The performance has improved as it was driven. When new it didn't accelerate very well. It is now "hard to hold down!" We have owned a couple of Lincolns and this auto compares very favorably.

Safety. Comfort. Quality. Warranty.

Suggested Improvements

Nothing comes to mind except items such a hands off parking. They make no sense in a car at this level.

Review

I bought my 2005 Kia Amanti new from a dealer. I love the car and its performance.

Favorite Features

The Infinity Sound System is excellent with a total of 9 speakers. I like the fact that Kia continues to include a tape deck. Many of us old folks still play tapes <laugh>.

Suggested Improvements

I would like to see a compass added to the inside rear view mirror. Also, I would like to see the doors lock when the transmission is put into "Drive".

Review

This is our poor man's Jag. We both like it, only my wife not real crazy about the need to shift to the overdrive.

Favorite Features

Love the looks, and fun to drive.

Suggested Improvements

Original tires were terrible, only 24000 and were bald! Make it easier to replace the air filter. Hate the idea of a fuel filter in the tank.
