I totally understand you because today I went used car dealer shop, see 2004 KIA amanti and felt that what you are talking about. It was true that car just got so hot although car ran in 5minute for test drive. I have a 2004 kia amanti that loses power when it gets hot out or after driving 30 miles and the car gets hot. It is extremely dangerous and I have brought it to the dealer several times and they keep on releasing it fixed. are you still having this problem with your car? My car has drained the battery serveral times. each time it shorts out the trip computer. Twice Kia said you repaired and twice thy replaced the trip computer. since the first time the following have also shorted out and had to be replaced: the mirrors, air bag sensor, radio, seat controls, and the heaters for the ... I am having the sam exact problem with my 2004 kia amanti! I have almost had an accident 5 times. I have barely submitted complaint to BBB.. My car has 33k miles & is under warranty.. the kia dealership mechanic said its a common problem with KIA AMANTIs.. he claims it has something to do with the gas overheating.. appapently there is a different mechanism for every ... Same problem with my 2004 Amanti. Airbag light remained on after start up. The dealership technician replaced the battery and cleared the computer codes and it appears the problem was corrected. My battery did not appear o be getting weak as all other electrical systems and indicators were operating OK including cold weather statr-up. Perhaps KIA needs to ... Read More...

One last thing. This 'reprogramming' appears to have resolved the following items for me: Sudden acceleration (jack rabbiting) of vehicle when pressing on gas pedal; no acceleration when pressing on gas pedal. I left my Kia Amanti outside for 3 hours and when I came back the battery had to be jumped. What would cause the battery to drain...I do not think I left the lights on....I have 28,000 miles and never had this problem before. Should I take it in to the dealer tomorrow even if it starts ok..please advice. Read More...
