    I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited doing the same thing. Pushing it further into "park" seems to have solved the problem. I called my dealer, they want me to bring it in. Thanks for the tip!

    I have had the EXACT same problem on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited when trying to manually or remote start (stock remote starter).     Seems to be a common problem on Wranglers. I have a 2006 and it started doing it in 2010. Just have to listen carefully and stop just before it's full. Maybe our Jeeps are just spitting out that overpriced gas as a protest?

    Hi dlowenth. I just leased a 2010 Wrangler Sport 2 door through US Bank and it seems the 50% residual the dealer quoted you is legitimate, as that is the residual in my lease contract. However, my rent charge over the life of the lease is only $230 which converts to a money factor of about .00014, so I guess that somewhat will make up for the heavier depreciation.

    The 2010 wrangler unlimited no longer comes with a print manual. The manual is now delivered with the vehicle in a DVD format. I found that the Freedom top was not that heavy when i removed it but it was very clumsy. You need two or better yet 3 people to handle it.     Even my 97 TJ, the first model year for the TJ, has had fewer issues with it and I've beaten it up pretty good on and offroad. Love the JK's looks, but the TJ, thus far, has seemed to weather the evolution better. -Paul

    ...why the transmission would be acting up.. a computer issue or a gearbox? Most likely the transmission itself as you've got a problem with 'Park' as well. Unfortunately, in recent years Jeeps have been suffering from QC and design issues, notable concerning steering (death wobble), hardtops (leaks), and both manual and automatic transmissions having assorted problems. It doesn't make me happy to say it either. :(

    Traded in our 2007 Wrangler X with about 16k miles on it. Wife, kids and I were all in the Jeep and got the Death Wobble. Dealer put on a "heavier duty" stabilizer/dampner. Not sure if it really resolved the issue. Traded it in on a 2010 Subaru Outback. Haven't regretted it once!

    The dark charcoal is a really dark grey, but in the sunlight you can definitely tell it is grey. I opted for the charcoal because black get dirty so quick.     Just an FYI... I was negotiating with a dealer on a 2010 Wrangler with the Freedom Top. He just called to say the supplier of the Freedom Top had gone bankrupt and they currently are not available. Jeep is looking for a supplier, and anticipates the hard tops will not be available until the 1st qtr of 2010.
