Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler Clutch Pops out of First Gear [flynlevel]

My Jeep does the exact same thing when it's in first gear. I took it to a Jeep Service Center they drove it around and Nothing! They said that they couldn't find anything. Two days later it happened again. I have had manuals all my life this is fairly a new 2008 model. I don't know what to do. Maybe we should all write to Jeep there has to be some sort of recall. Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler [rondizzlicious]

also, it's worth mentioning that this problem may be an electrical connection issue. I think there are issues with getting a clean connection on one or more of the modules and/or the harness. on another site, someone added electrical grease to the connections and supposedly it took care of the problems. first few times the vehicle was in the shop, the technician ... Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler [rondizzlicious]

I have had the Jeep in the shop ever since. Finally, the service department got on the phone with a Chrysler Tech and got it fixed. Soon after I traded it in, so I cannot comment on its current condition. Following are the notes from the dealer as posted on the Jeepforum site. I have an 08 Unlimited X purchased brand new. 500 miles in it stalled - the ETC light coming on. ... Read More...

Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler Clutch Pops out of First Gear [flynlevel]

I have a 2008 Wrangler rubicon unlimited and have been having the exact same experience. I have had it in the shop 5 times on this and the dealership finally told me that I would have to find another service center tand that they could no longer help me on it! Clearly this is a defect in the product that Jeep has not figured out yet. Good luck! Read More...

Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler Clutch Pops out of First Gear [shaunas]

My 2008 Wrangler dows the same; the problem started around 5K miles, and is getting worse (now nearly 10K miles). Only in first gear, pops out with a loud clunk; dangerous if your pulling into traffic. At first I thought it was user error (just not putting into gear all the way), but having had several thousand miles to focus on it I'm sure there is some weakness in ... Read More...
