    about two weeks ago my wife hit a rather large water puddle on the road in her 2004 jeep wrangler. about ten minutes later the instrument panel dinged and the check gauges light was on. the oil pressure read low (L). since then it would happen when taking off after a short idle. i replaced the oil pump with no avail. any ideas?

    Earlier Cherokees had a Puegot transmission that was notorious for bad things happening. Your newer Cherokees and TJ Wranglers used the same transmissions and transfer cases.     The only significant different between 04 and 05 is the transmission on the manual, from a 5 speed to 6 speed. How should you get it equiped might better be answered if you tell us what you want to do with it, off road, modify, etc...

    Have you had any luck finding a rear seat? I recently bought an '04 SE and am in the same boat. Beard and Mastercraft both make seats, however, they are still not as cheap as the 2002 seats.

    I don’t really know. However, when I looked at buying a bikini top it seemed that the 2003 / 2004 uses a different head-rail, which may indicate the 97 top will not work on the 2003 / 2004 year models.   I would ask the parts guy at your local jeep dealer.   Sorry I could not offer any useful help.   Glen
